It's French Provincial style all right, but I agree on the proportions - the attic looks big enough to house a racquetball court.

Yes, I look at that orphan window atop the doorway and weep. All that space between the top windows is lonely. Anyways, there are plenty of houses in Detroit that beat this design hands down...

Patrick, the original photographer misaddressed this house. It is 803 West Boston Blvd. on the sw corner of Third.

Later on, for many years it was the home of Detroit architect Nathan Johnson who designed one house [[that I know of) in Boston-Edison and a number of houses in the Russell Woods neighborhood.

Nathan Johnson was the likely architect of Stanley Hong's restaurant on East Baltimore in the New Center area, Stanley's Mannia.
    • Stanley Hong was highly regarded by many in Detroit's Black community. I vaguely recall that when a rumor started that he was serving cats at his restaurant, Coleman Young came out stronly in his defense.

Nathan Johnson's [[now closed) office at 2512 WGB between 12th & 14th. I assume his office did the design work which combined the two old two-family flats.
