Awesome. Very impressive, creative adaption to the vacant land at that site.
Next: Need something on the Woodward block between Alfred and Edmund Pl.
Someone with $$$$$$$ has got to believe that those block[[s) with frontage on Woodward and blocks from the new arena will become very desirable: Walk to the arena, Comerica, Ford Field, etc. M-1 to downtown, WSU, medical center, etc.
Man, the winter blues had me kind of down the last few weeks. Between the Gilbert building and this...I'm suddenly feeling all optimistic inside.
This got me thinking about police presence in this area. Will WSU grow their police force to accommodate the residency growth? I mention it here because I know that they responded to YOBS when they had break-ins while the DPD couldn't get there fast enough, but I've heard that Brush Park really isn't their normal territory.
Where I am it will be in the 80's today, so no winter blues. Nevertheless, I'm equally happy to see these proposals. Finally, some substantial infill seems to be likely.
Neato. Can anyone provide an update on Brush Park Village North. It's on John R & Erskine

375 brand spanking new residences proposed and a multi billion dollar infrastructure project moving forward. Pretty good 2 days.
I dropped my phone yesterday and broke the screen so I couldn't keep up with news today like I usually do. When I finally did get it fixed and started browsing various sites I nearly dropped it again from excitement! Between this and Capitol Park, just a good news day.
Soon that area will be are Brush Park [[a.k.a CRACKHEAD ESTATES!) will become like the Gold Coast of Detroit. It's bye bye poor folks.
Sasche and Neumann construction [[ Dan Gilbert's relatives) will fund the project with a iron clad contract.
last i heard it went from being an office building to apartments. they got approved for some sort of funding and i'm almost positive they were waiting to start construction until this spring// when the ground thaws
well, why couldn't it be finished? it's not like their isn't demand. make it rental until it can be converted to condominium.

Also very interesting are the Joie De Vivre boutique hotel plans for Brush Park which look like they were submitted to the Brush Park CDC this month. This might be from the same developers that originally wanted the Statler hotel site [[but were rejected last year), since they also wanted to bring a Joie De Vivre boutique hotel to that site. It's hard to tell from the plans...

Hate to sound naïve, but what is an "executive hotel"?More renderings from the Brush Park CDC website!

Is it a fancy name for a 4 or 5 star hotel? If so, is this a good location for this type of hotel?
I suppose somewhat odd, but then again there have been plenty of rumblings about Brush Park really seeing development explode in the coming few years. They might have had some conversations with folks that we are not privy to.
Yep. I would think the prime usage for that land would be residential. Wouldn't that be a reversion to what it was say 100 years ago? Folks lived there in pricey residences and worked downtown. Right?
I don't see a big need for an 'executive hotel'.
IF anything, I'd think a tourist hotel to piggyback off Comerica/Ford Field/arena [[as I assume a hotel at Woodward/Fisher would be).
Now that I think of it, might that hotel 'morph' into a hotel for visiting teams at Comerica/Ford Field/arena?
Wouldn't it be easier to 'house' players there then say the Westin Cadillac???
I didn't realize Joie de Vivre hotels were so well done either. Very nice. Brush Park does seem a little bit of an odd location, but I'm not sure they are focused on the business crowd based on looking at some of their other hotels, for example, the Joie de Vivre hotel in Chicago is located in Lincoln Park. I guess with Brush Park they would be building with the expectation that restaurants and bars will develop around the hotel site. Of course the proximity to all of the arenas and theatre seating may be enough of a reason to develop now, even with the location being relatively isolated. You're a very short Uber ride or slightly longer walk away from everything.
Awww, didn't someone just renovate that structure on Brush and Fisher Freeway? It's such a simple building but one that nicely fits along the corner. Oh well. Continued density increases in Brush Park are a very good thing and this is a welcome sight. Also very interesting are the Joie De Vivre boutique hotel plans for Brush Park which look like they were submitted to the Brush Park CDC this month.
