Open hydrant on Farnsworth. Guess which kid is mine? They were all holding up W's with their fingers yelling WESTSIDE until I reminded them they live on the EASTSIDE, then they held up E's and were yelling EASTSIDE. This was about 2001

Grandy X E. Alexandrine. This dog and two others were shot and killed by cops serving a warrant for some weed plants a couple of years after I took this. Shot from behind. I just love this pic for some reason. He looks scruffy but the dogs were loved.

    Good stuff Django!

The junkie trip is harsh and I feel you werent out panning for nuggets, but looking at the nasty sad truth about being human.

The pictures are hard to bear and I found myself looking at them like a narrative. You somehow managed to keep the syringes from being too obvious in some of the lead up pictures to the shooting up ones. Very sad.

Canuck, yes I've been photographing the streets for years but I didn't mean to put up my Flickr account for everyone. I have since removed it. I didn't realize that by putting up a pic off my Flickr account everyone would be able to see.

Sorry about that intrusion Django. They have a way of dragging new members in à la Facebook et al. I guess. Still, your pictures are worth seeing.

The DTE reflecting pool is quite nice, we now can see how they fill it so quickly!

MB, the house on the left in the last photo, isn't Ms. Ross [[the Boss) old house on W. Buena Vista?

Thank you Zacha, thats a favorite of mine too. I grew up on 35mm and a little bit of medium format photography but you just dont get these sometimes beautiful streaking lights and other effects with a film camera so easily as you do digital. I just stick to my mantra of Shoot the shit out of a subject then pick and choose from the proofs.

    Here's Ishtar Sunday on Farnsworth.

Hope you will all let me know if my pics are not happy enough. I myself can find happiness in the rubble.
