no, the jury didn't necessarily believe him, the prosecutors failed to do a decent job presenting their case.

In listening to the Hispanic juror I got the sense that most of the jurors and definitely her, felt GZ was guilty of something. That was indicated by the first vote they took. Now as it went along and they understood the law better, how GZ was charged, and the case the prosecution put forward they realized that they couldn't convict him. She said she thought about holding out and hanging the jury but I'm sure the pressure of being the only holdout would have been overwhelming and not fair to herself. The prosecution still in my mind did a bad job. As in the OJ case the difference in not guilty and being innocent is huge
Self Defense laws are intended for the protection of a victim. If you are against self defense laws, essentially, you are on the side of rapists, murderers, molesters and criminals and against the victim's right to defend themselves and stand their ground. Plain and simple. The fact that there even has to be a law that says a victim can stand their ground is sad. The right of a victim to stand their ground against a home invader, a rapist, a murderer, a child molester, a stabber, a kidnapper... ect... is a message to criminals that we are NOT all victims and we CAN defend ourselves.
Stand Your Ground had nothing to do with the Zimmerman trial. Zimmerman was cleared of all charges based on self defense laws.
Our President, Our Attorney General, and the NAACP stand on the side of the criminal, Not the Victim, by having the unbreaking will to reduce the rights of victims in America because of a misinterpreted and inapplicable trial twisted and manipulated by the media and racial division groups.
Regarding racism, I am just plain dumbfounded that in a nation where Black Americans have achieved every position of power and authority: The Presidency, the Attorney General, the Supreme Court, Congress, the House, Governerships, high ranking positions in the Armed Forces... ect ect ect... that people are still saying "Whitey" is holding people of color down.
MLK gave his life for the principle that people be seen for the quality of their character and not their skin color. Now Our own President and Attorney General, who have ascended to the highest positions in the land, are embracing skin color as a weapon of division and fanning the flames of racism with inflammatory statement after statement. MLK would be rolling in his grave to see people who have achieved so much go against everything he ever stood for.

I agree with many of your points. I wonder how many corners black people will go around, continuing to follow the current administration before we see that our true interests are really not the agenda.
Despite appearances...
The irony is palpable.
Need we throw the baby out with the bath water on this one?

He isn't too bright.
And he should have left the country when he had the chance.
Police in a central Florida town say George Zimmerman was taken into custody Monday after his estranged wife reported that he was allegedly threatening her and her father with a gun.
Last week, his wife, Shellie Zimmerman. filed for divorce.
CNN quotes police as saying that Zimmerman is in "investigative custody."

hey, he's just standing his ground
This guy's a real yahoo.
Enough to make me believe in karma again.
Turns out his future x- wife may have fabricated much of the story.
I still think it would have been in his best interest to leave the country after the verdict. He's not too bright.
http://news.msn.com/crime-justice/ip...snews11&stay=1Shellie Zimmerman called 911, saying her estranged husband was in his truck and threatening her and her father with a gun. She also said her husband punched her father in the nose. Hours later, she told police she hadn't seen a gun.
Police said no gun was ever found and the former couple blamed each other for being the aggressor.
Divorces are never easy
