I've put up several posts on this thread with examples of what I refer to as the Cadillac and Buick models of the same basic design. Here's another excellent example of the concept.
This substancial country French style house is on Edison.
Then a block over on Atkinson are two other houses that follow, with some variations, the same design. They basically mirror, or bookend, each other across their common driveway.
These Edison and Atkinson houses are, to me, the Buick models of the design.
Several blocks over, at 1937 Boston Blvd., is the Cadillac model. This house is referred to as The Fred Sanders [[Sanders Bakery) House. I'm including a link to a sales listing for the house. If you have a minute, scroll through the pictures and you'll see why I refer to this as the "Cadillac Model."

I don't know the architect but if you know who did any one of them, you'll have the key to the remaining three.
Neilr the pair on Atkinson were built by Herbert K. Barber. There are several drawings by Bloodgood Tuttle prepared for Barber that are posted on this thread. 2511 on the right was sold to architect Rupert W. Koch. Another interesting drawing I am enclosing is from J. Ivan Dise from Michigan Architect and Engineer for modest homes. Also included is the final report for the Atkinson Avenue Historic District featuring 2503 and 2511.
Images of 2503 and 2511 Atkinson taken last fall
Thanks for the info. I noticed in the AA Historic District Report that Clarence Day lived at 1652 Atkinson in the early 1920's.Neilr the pair on Atkinson were built by Herbert K. Barber. Not mentioned in the report: J. Ivan Dise designed and built his own home at 1559 Atkinson.
Neilr while the final reports are usually pretty comprehensive they never include all the info available. The Dise design is one of several glaring omissions I have seen in this and other final reports.

Another outstanding house is 22 Webber Plc Grosse Point
http://www.trulia.com/property/10341...hores-MI-48236
"It cost the wealthy Webber family $476,079.49 to build" Dont forget that .49 cents!
I don't get the price:
2007 $1,877,556
2008 $ 695,000
2012 $1,195,000
FYI: They have cut $200k from when it was first listed
The 2008 buyer is trying to flip it at near double purchase prices.
Its going nowhere, been for sale for more than a year+
More price cuts to come me think....
Cheers
