Thumper sez, "Will Rogers never met Steve Jobs.".
I was going to say that Steve Jobs changed the world. But I've been too engrossed in listening to my iPod, texting on my iPhone, and playing on my iPad to notice the world much anymore.
DetroitYES is and always has been about all the family of communities of the Detroit-Windsor metropolis -- the comunity that grew from Le Detroit, the Straits of Detroit. Says so right on the home page forever. The City of Detroit, which happens to be named after the straits, is but one member albeit the most significant. So there are Mac stores in "Detroit".
So, Apple Inc. implodes by 2014.
Pretty amazing transition for 35 years.

I wonder if you were one of his suicidal Chinese slaves you would feel "differently"?
I agree with the both of you, a leading pancreatic cancer specialist who was very familiar with Job's case, said he did not have to die. In fact said had he taken time out of his super busy scheduled early in the detection to get the proper treatment, he would have lived a long life.......Karma! We reap what we sow!!Det_ard makes valid points. Jobs should be honored as a brilliant innovator, industrialist and leader. However it should not be lost that there is no evidence whatsoever that the man had any heart-- at least in regards to charitable giving.
He should be honored for his accomplishments, but not canonized.
Cool pic! Yikes that was a big jump there -- left off some of the intermediate models like the Apple II, the Classic, SE30, FX, a bunch of models between to the Blue and White tower G3 [[aka yosemite), emacs, imacs, the laptop series, to the G4, G5 and er um, just to step back a bit, don't forget ye old 'work horse', the ibook G4!
I am typing from [[still working with out a reformat or serious virus issue 4 years straight - OS X Tiger).... LOL! Course you now need the Intel models to run the new Adobe apps. I am getting an Mac Book Pro [[Intel) mac next. Got to keep up but I'm not into Ipads.....Pretty amazing transition for 35 years.

Yes, I think there are plenty of mac users, lovers, haters, etc. in Detroit! There are those of us using them in daily work, or who train others in the use of macs applied to various educational tactics and curriculum. So of course this story should be here.DetroitYES is and always has been about all the family of communities of the Detroit-Windsor metropolis -- the comunity that grew from Le Detroit, the Straits of Detroit. Says so right on the home page forever. The City of Detroit, which happens to be named after the straits, is but one member albeit the most significant. So there are Mac stores in "Detroit".
I hear that. I've been with Mac almost from the beginning. My field went full digital ala 'desktop' computers late 80's and you either went with it of you did not work in the industry! Finding yourself standing on the other side of the door unable to apply the skills of graphics, design, digital imaging, and advertising etc.
The Apple technology and innovation leap provided an ease of use the early Apple computers provided opened the door. You went thru it, the rest is history along with other technologies out there non Apple. I work multi-platform Macs and PC with ease as adaptability is key especially in training and working in digital editing and multimedia or education.
The early Macs were a bridge to technology: such as the early GUI [[graphics user interface), less "virus-prone" system architecture, and plug and play connectivity. These aspects made learning computers easier. Allowing more time to focus on the business, media and graphics software, and work at hand. Not having to be constantly concerned [[distracted) about maintaining a computer.
