Ya Gash, I think that I had mentioned before that I had run into Leon at Cripple Creek and that he remembered vividly the Garwood. Old guy , Charlie Chicken was that tall dude in Alameda that worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and would bring us all the leftovers to eat.

Whaler, I worked Race Day a few times myself. Usually with any available girls and substances in any marina we happened to toss anchor at. I've slept on deck in sleeping bags, under picnic tables [[hey, OG) and wherever. A few times, I didn't even sleep. Do you remember the old Military Marina, up river? What a divey, scow junkyard that was. But lot's of fun.

You are correct CandyMan. I remember when we got kicked out of that apartment above the clothing store, escorted by half the Alameda police force. We hopped in your van with a few assorted 3 day old buckets of rubber like chicken. The police suggested that we should move across the bay but we went to Bolinas. Drank $1.99 gallons of Vino Fino from that little store and ate chicken. I remember the bottles of Vino Fino had a label with a red & white checkered tablecloth. They didn't make aspirin that was strong enough to make you feel better the next day.

OG......that's why they made more wine; you don't need aspirin if ya' got more wine.

Oh, you guys. Keep the stories coming. Vintage 50's, 60's and 70's beatnik, hippie, counter-culture, road stories. Gotta love 'em. And we have a million stories to tell.

Margie, let him up, let go, let go.

Gleeman...thats so funny because my best friends two teenage boys call me Margie Lips !
BTW...It is very rare that I get offended and I dont even like it then...It does not look good on me...so lets just say I think I can speak for F.O.G. when I say that that when we find a place that is a good fit, you know, real cozy, like a big enveloping chair right in front of a huge stone fireplace, when the flames are lickin up high so you can hear the crackle, you have your favorite drink and your trusty ax near enough to pick up and cradle in your arms for some sweet pickin.....well anyway, thats how we feel about the Detroit Yes Forum.

Hey guys..We had to put our pup down last saturday . We need of another. If anyone knows the whereabouts of a brand new pup let me know our other little girl is lonely and well, you can never have enough dogs in the house

Hey Margie, I'm always shakin' that ax, trying to squeeeeeze notes out of it. polishing up that "Garwood Anthem", and always working on new songs. Trying to scrutinize that Garwood window. I know you household is full of love and joy this holiday season. Merry Christmas.

Come on, you guys. The guy [[MikeM) was only making an honest suggestion.............no sarcasm intended. Actually, some of the FOGers that we can't find might be out there on Facebook, so maybe his suggestion merits some consideration. I KNOW FACEBOOK IS NOT EVERYBODY'S CUP OF TEA, but maybe if somebody throws some Gar Wood stuff out there...........................I'll research it. 1kd..what's your take on this?

Margie........have you noticed that Glmn seems to be obsessed with your lips?

Ruth......Blackwater has got nothing on you and Margie [[re: Sumas)

I'm with you on this one, Stone. MikeM is a real good and steady contributor here at DY. Actually, invaluable. I doubt he meant anything negative. It's so easy to take remarks out of context when posting because writing loses the inflections in peoples voices and the looks on their faces, that often clues us in on what they mean. Facebook would probably be a good idea especially for the reason you just gave Stone : expand our field of operations. Or is it our empire?
