My cousin gave me a copy of this and it's actually good. I never was a fan of his comedy. Maybe he should have just done music all along.

Been listening to a lot of Peter Green/Danny Kirwan-era Fleetwood Mac lately - Then Play On, Live at the Boston Tea Party, Kiln House, Mr Wonderful, BBC Sessions. Great stuff - they became a COMPLETELY different band after Buckingham/Nicks joined, even the last couple of albums before that were quite a bit different from the earlier stuff. Most people don't even know there WAS a Fleetwood Mac before Buckingham/Nicks! Or aren't familiar with the music anyway.
It's time to break out the Pogues again:

Happy St. Patrick's day everybody.
Right now, I'm listening to Detroit legend Andre Williams... in anticipation of this Saturday's show at the Park Bar.
Thunder On The Mountain, the first cut from Bob Dylan's Modern Times CD of a coupla years ago.
I love Dylan, although I should stress that I'm not a Dylan fanatic. There is a difference.
I bought the CD when it came out. I liked that cut, immediately, but it was only when I pulled out the CD, recently, to re-acquaint myself with it, that I fell totally in love with that song.
If anyone wants to check it out, I have two suggestions;
1) Print out a copy of the lyrics. Trying to follow them, as Bob "sings" them, is nearly impossible, and they are worth the trouble.
2) If you use YouTube, don't select a "live" performance of the song. The cut from the CD features a more focussed vocal by Bob, and the over-all musical performance is just outstanding.
Dylan is a lot of fun, these days, as he seems to have elected to forget about being Bob Dylan and has become that which he may have always wanted to be: just a guy who sings songs, a son of Woody Guthrie and other American folk artists who played relatively simple songs by the people & for the people.
Thunder on the Mountain features a cute "shout-out" to Alicia Keys, who, it seems, Bob must have some admiration for.
With the beautiful weather the last couple days....Ziggy Marley's "Family Time" [[I Love You Too)...
Alex Chilton died. Big Star Third is my favorite of his assorted recordings.

I recently became a spacebook fan of CKLW and they keep linking old Swingin' Time clips that are just catching me off-guard. I was 10 or 11 yrs old when the song in the link below was out. Though I could not ID the song by its title, so help me God, after hearing two notes, I was able to sing along with it almost word-for-word... even though I am sure I have not heard this specific song since the 60s. I could sit and just cry. They just don't make music like this anymore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHEXB8fkix0

Found this through one of barnesfoto's links. Total duration 16 minutes.
It's an interesting behind-the-scenes documentary about clandestine radio operators. There's a bit of urban exploration involved. At one point they blindfold the commentator while driving him to their secret studio. I wonder if he thought to bring along a GPS?Pirate radio is everywhere in London, born in the 60’s from rusting anti-aircraft towers in the mouth of the Thames. Today’s broadcasts are hidden in plain sight, transmitting from secret tower block studios via homemade rooftop antennas. We put our boots on and went exploring.
