Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has suffered from a credibility problem since before he was confirmed as a Justice on the high court. From his sexual harassment scandal to his constant conflicts of interest, it has become more and more clear that this man needs to resign. Mike Papantonio discusses the numerous reasons why Thomas needs to leave the bench with investigative journalist Brad Friedman.
The Food and Drug Administration has been asleep at the wheel for the last decade thanks in part to George Bush's decision to pack the agency with his industry-friendly allies. As a result we've seen hundreds of product recalls when inspectors and companies fail to do their jobs and properly test medical devices and pharmaceuticals. And as we're starting to see in the case of Johnson & Johnson's DePuy hip implant, the FDA and the company actually knew the dangers associated with their product but decided that consumers didn't need to know how dangerous their hip implants were. Mike Papantonio discusses the latest in a long line of medical device recalls with attorney and Consumer Advocate Ben Gordon.

Mike Papantonio talks with former Ring of Fire co-host David Bender about the latest developments in the News Corp phone hacking / bribery scandal. The scandal is growing larger by the hour and the big question today is whether or not the US Department of Justice will launch an investigation into Murdoch's criminal activities.
Until recently a secret group of business insiders have been helping corporate America write legislation to help protect their industries and at the same time destroy the few protections that consumers had. This group is called ALEC and they've managed to operate under the radar for years. Mike Papantonio talks about ALEC with Cliff Schecter, author of the book The Real McCain and public relations strategist.
The Real McCain: Why Conservatives Don't Trust Him and Why Independents Shouldn't
The Republicans are still refusing to budge on the debt ceiling issue even though President Obama has offered trillions of dollars worth of spending cuts. What is it that the Republicans want? They want the working class to give up even more so that millionaires and billionaires can keep getting tax breaks. Mike Papantonio talks about this with political consultant, author, and senior fellow at NYU -- Bob Shrum.
The Pentagon told Congress in their defense review that it was time to factor severe climate change into their strategic military planning. According to that pack of obviously misguided tree-hugging military misfits, global climate change that is definitely now occurring could create "instability or conflict, placing a burden on civilian infrastructures and militaries around the world." Wow. Strong language from the Pentagon!
If you're wondering why some members of the GOP are fighting so hard to keep billions of dollars flowing to the oil industry every year in the form of government subsidies and tax breaks, the answer goes far beyond campaign donations. Some of those fighting to keep subsidies in place, like Tea Party favorite Paul Ryan, actually get some of that subsidy money put back in their own pockets.
When he came into office, President Obama had the opportunity to put the criminals from the Bush Administration on trial for their misdeeds during the first part of this millennium. Instead, he wanted to make nice and let these crooks off the hook. As Mike Papantonio points out, these criminals aren't showing any gratitude for the president.
Progressives too live in a fantasy world. On a regular basis they declare that the culture wars are over and that the Religious Right's domination of the national political scene is waning. They keep saying that because they never bothered to understand what it was that pushed the Evangelicals so far to the right. Get it through your head: 2012 will -- once again -- be about social issues: abortion, gay rights, etc.
