Recently the Associated Press broke the story about how the NYPD had been actively spying on Muslims in the Northeast, particularly Muslim college students. Emails were intercepted, phone calls were bugged, and in some extreme cases, officers would actually follow students around day to day. These activities began in 2006 during the Bush administration, but have been ongoing since Obama took office.
