Finally, the Navy Pier Flyover project begins construction. The elevated bike path will reduce bicycle traffic jams and injuries from the current obsolete bike path bridge that's cantilevered from the side of US-41

Final cost of the project is $60 million. It doesn't appear the project length has changed much. About 1/2 mile upgrade for the lakefront trail. Still will make a huge difference, especially for those who commute everyday and will enjoy increased capacity.
In other news, construction on the Bloomingdale Line is in full force. Dangerous old rail bridges are being knocked out and replaced with modern spans
