Heck, cities receive tax revenue from every business. Should all businesses be prevented from setting hours or offering discount cards - makes sense to me. Vote with your feet if you don't like a business's policies. But remember, you'll be denying Detroit tax revenue...

I gave CVS all false information and the address of a foreclosed house to get my annoying card. I just have to not act surprised when the cashier calls me by a made-up name. Unfortunately that was before the days of McLovin so I didn't get to use that one.
Thats the main reason why I hate carrying around the store savings cards.

I usually tell the cashier to use the store card, so I can stil l get the discount and they want to be an ass about letting me use it, I quickly fill out an application with fake information and then hand the card back to the cashier after they check me out.

The cards are not really saving you any money, as all the stores do anyways is raise all their prices and discount it back to you if you use their card.

As far as my casino card, I don't actually have a card for there either. I had my neighbor get me an extra card on his account

I used to work in a department store and even when something was marked 90% off they still made a profit because of the original mark-up price.

I kind of get the feeling that if there wasn't this policy, some of the same people would be complaining about them preying [[and getting away with preying) on the weak-willed as is often the criticism of gambling. Maybe, you should thank them for letting you keep your money. lol Either that, or go find another casino. There are two others ones in he area, you know.

Went back again tonight with my neighbors MLife card, and they had the nerve to ask me for ID at the door and gave me crap about the names not matching up and denied me entry again.

I ended up going to another door, and they let me in without asking to see my ID. When I left I made it a point to walk past the first security checkpoint and say goodnight to the security person who denied me entry.

Now that I think about it, I think they do it to keep all the drunks and riff raff out. However, they need to post some sort of sign at the Casino at all times that you will need a card for entry on certain days at certain hours, and not just during the certain days and certain hours the policy is in effect.

I would've just gone down to Lafayette, but that's just me.

You can buy a lot of Coneys for $100!

I guess it's their business and they can do what they want. As someone else said, it might just be a way to keep street people out. This is Detroit.

Yeah - I have a thought. They can have pretty much any rules they want, and if you don't like it you don't have to go there. Get over yourself, you don't have a God given right to go into any place of business at any time of day or night just because YOU want to. So they have stupid rules - then go to another one of the casinos in town that don't have stupid rules.

Solved. Not sure what the problem is.

I think it just might be high time you get a card.

And if next time it happens have someone there look up your card number, verify who you are and let you in on a temporary card. The worst thing that they would've had to do was issue you a new one. Is this any different than if you had lost your card?

I can understand a rule like that to keep the rift raft out. But they should have a sign posted as well. But on the same token the casino is not the only place in Detroit to get something to eat in the middle of the night. I've been in Detroit in the middle of the night several times and I usually opt for Ram's Horn or Lafayette Coney Island as well as other choices. You could of also went over to Greektown or Motor City as MGM isn't the only casino in Detroit.

Last Friday, me and two French exchange students were at Pizzapapolis when a friend texted me telling me he was at Greektown Casino and if I wanted to come, a coincidence I was there already. So me and my two friends decided to go visit him, not to play just to see. Me and one of them were allowed entry because I had my license and the other had his passport. My second friend was denied entry because his French driver's license [[he had forgotten his passport at his apartment). I was told that paper laminated documents do not count as a form of valid IDs for Greektown. I'm pissed because anywhere else in the world, this document would pass as a valid form of ID. His DL clearly shows his date of birth, that he is over 21, a picture of him, and that it is an official French government document. I feel like this wouldn't happen in Monte Carlo, of course over there they're not Nazis when it comes to IDs like us.

3AM? How about going home and going to bed?

Well the poster said they fell asleep early and woke around 2:30. It happens. Except I'd personally opt for watching TV around that time or if I lived in place where people get around by cars, I'd probably hit up the drive thru if safety is a concern. I wouldn't go out and lose $100 at 3:00 a.m though, that would suck...but that's my own personal preference

Appearantly anyone who does not have a Players Club Card.

A Casino is a private business and not a government. You are not a citizen you are a consumer. A business gets to pick and choose its consumers. You give up all sorts of personal freedoms when you enter a casino, a mall, or decide to get a consumer card. I myself only use the Kroger Card because it is the most convienent to me. Like CVS and Rite Aid, if you don't have this card, you will be OVERCHARGED for your purchases. I too find the cards annoying. CVS and Rite Aid in my view has just made me shop at Sav-Mor or Walgreens instead.

You are under no obligation to use those cards [[Kroger, CVS, etc. and MGM) when you are in their buildings. Yes, at the casino, you can be SURE they are tracking your level of play at the machines - and for all we know adjusting the output of your wins. So get a card, use it to get in the door, don't insert the card into the machines - and play anonymously.

What does any of this have to do with my question?

I found out the hard way that they don't accept ID's issued by tribal governments, either, tho they are accepted at both sides of the border crossings. And were quite unpleasant about it.
