Transition into Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66...gotta lighten it up, but keepin' the deep groovin' rhythms...simmering the blood with some Latin lovin'.
Rubber Duckie by Ernie on Sesame Street. Great lyrics, inimitable voice; pure genius.

Im on an Everclear kick at the moment. The video for their song Father Of Mine on Youtube especially. That little kids face in the video kills me.

Natalie Merchant this morning...needed her soothing huskiness to transition from dreamstate into wakestate. It ain't happening easily this chilly day.
I once said in a hifi speaker review that she could sing her ABCs to me and I'd be enthralled.

anyone recognize the lead singer ?
Big Van the Man.
I cannot allow a citation of this Irishman to pass without my jumping in to note that Van is one of my extreme very super favorite singers, one who I hold in high esteem and for whose work I have great affection.
The medley, from "The Last Waltz," of "Tura Lura" & "Caravan" never, ever fails to raise my heart rate, shorten my breath, and send a shiver through my various cortical nerve endings.
Yeah, that's right: I really love Van Morrison.
While I must admit that I sorta never need to ever hear "Brown-Eyed Girl" again.
A semi-recent [[2002) CD, of Van's, called "Down the Road," is not all that great, to my ears, but Van Fans may want to look up "Meet Me In The Indian Summer," "Georgia On My Mind," and "Whatever Happened To P.J. Proby?"
Here's one for ya:Yeah, that's right: I really love Van Morrison.

I think Van quickly outgrew Them . Its hard to pick my favorite Van Morrison tune but this one is right up there .
I remember P.J. Proby lol
Thankya, Pammers. For some reason, I'm not getting good sound from that clip, but hey, a muffled Van is still way better than a crystal-clear Yeah'bout Anybody Else!!
Good ol' Van. Always looking like a slightly disheveled Irish poet who one might find stumbling out of a tavern and onto a Dublin curb-side.
Hhmm. Maybe not so far from the truth, eh? No disapproval from me.
And, Wingnatic? Hey, I remember "Niki Hoeky," too. It's the only thing I know about P.J. Proby. And I must confess that I always kinda liked that song.
The Morrison song is cool. Check it out, you two, if you get a minute. [[To me, though, the stand-out cut from that CD is the "Indian Summer" one.)
Wow. Just clicked on the link to "Niki Hoeky." What a treat. Still like it a lot. Thanks, Wingnatic & Pam.
Today we have Melanie signing about Woodstock [[the original Woodstock , not the portajohn, cellphones, debit cards , motel rooms Woodstock lol ) Melanie is still with us and does tour dates now and then . Melanie has a great voice but I don't feel this tune would have made it so big without the background music of the gospel group The Edwin Hawkins Singers [[ Oh Happy Day fame )
Brother Wayne from MC5.
Anyone remember the band Spirit ? I suspect the young lady in this video is one of the band members daughter .
