Hand bite? Better get to St. Johns 8 miles from 1300. They must have the best hand bite specialists. Better than Recieving or Henry Ford.
Just watched most of episode 11 about the bumcicle. I noticed a piece of art in the loft by a dude I know, Dale Teachout. I believe he was also in the same scene a few seconds later sporting a cowboy hat opening a door but not sure if it was him. The opening of that scene was def centered on his art. I dont really dig the guy but always thought his sculpture of found colorful items were amazing. I pushed the guy to show his work, trying to get him shows but he never took.
Just my two cents on the episode. I didnt get to finish wtching it as the streaming vid player fucked up. Who killed the movie star, who killed the popcicl?, Im bettin the brother in law.
I didn't know about this show until yesterday.
We're in Colorado and, for the last few weeks, people have been approaching us, which is rare in the west, asking about what Detroit is like. It's very strange for them to do.
I watched fifteen minutes of it. With my western experience and experiences with Californians [[we get a lot of them), I think they did an excellent job of communicating Detroit culture from the perspective of westerners/west coasters.
However, of course, it was a Hollywood/Detroit episode. In any case, in fifteen minutes, they managed to fit the phrase 'this kind of publicity is bad for Detroit' in two or three times. I thought that was hilarious and the most accurate distillment of Detroit culture that anyone could come up with. At the other end, the Californian saying that she didn't want to say anything bad about the actress after she died, regardless of the consequences to the investigation, was equally funny and accurate.
very touching episode.. I appreciated the issues touched on in the episode- vapid hollywood types, widespread homelessness, urban exploration, "ruin porn".. and unexpectedly, with the mental health subplot, i saw parallels with family members, it was eerie..
the smarmy producer was brilliant, especially in his interaction with the Lieutenant..
Django, you are right about brother-in-law. The stars' stagehand guy killed her. What plant was that filmed in, Fisher 21?
Stromberg2
Thanks, Novack.

I especially liked the chat in the bar about having a crazy family member.
"I love it when you stare out the window, makes you seem complicated, like an onion, I wast want to peel back the layers" I was crackin up
I'm a die hard fan of The Good Wife, however, when that's not on I watch this program. I am getting very interested in it as of late and want to see all the episodes so I can catch up. Does anyone know how I can get them online? I've tried to watch other shows online but was not very successful. What am I doing wrong?
My friend in Auora, CO, originally from Detroit is so hooked on 187. She loves all the scenery shown of her hometown. My friend in Rhode Island has never been to Detroit and she has never missed an episode. She loves the program.
Has the announcement been made yet if it has been renewed? I sure hope so.
Hulu has about six episodes for free. Amazon has the rest for $1 each.I'm a die hard fan of The Good Wife, however, when that's not on I watch this program. I watched a couple today. It's a solid show. I think it does a decent job representing the city but I think they need the detectives from A&E's "The First 48 Hrs." to bring it home.
I just had dinner with Michael Imperioli and Jon Michael Hill.
Well ... I didn't exactly have dinner with them, I sort of had it at the same time 4 feet away. They were at Maria's Comida on Joseph Campau eating a dinner during a break in shooting on Joseph Campau and I ordered ribs to go. I sat about 4 feet from them. They were dressed "in character". Michael Imperiali's hair was perfect and he sat in the booth with perfectly straight posture. They were very nice, and took pictures with people in the restaurant after they were done.
Eriedearie, there are some free episodes on ABC's show website - http://abc.go.com/shows/detroit-1-8-7/video
I personally am jealous. Im just one of those star struck fools who would just mumble gibberish If I ever met someone from the tv or big screen. Your lucky I wasnt there, I would have spilled my coffee on Imperiali and smiled for sure.
I once was going to have my friend introduce me to Meg White, I flaked at the last second because I knew I would just make an ass of myself by askin her to marry me or something kinda silly like that.
Good find Rick.

I saw a bunch of production and camping trailer's labeled 'Haddad's, Burbank California' setting up shop at the shopping center at 8 and Dequindre this morning; Is that the 187 crew?
Django, If you want to run into Michael Imperioli, just hang out in downtown Royal Oak almost any evening. He's always out walking around. I think he's living in one of the "loft" condo in downtown Royal Oak.I personally am jealous. 187 shut down Jos. Campau last night for a driving scene.
Thanks Django. They had a huge amount of equipment in Hamtramck last night. The parking lot near the post office accross from Paychecks was jammed with trailer trucks. Trucks were lined up in front of Marias Comido. They had a truck or two that carries cars stacked on each other [[like how they transport new cars). They had completely closed down, down town Joseph Campau. Cops with flashing lights everywhere. Getting to Maria's was like threading a needle. But my wife wanted ribs that night, and you can't keep a local out. We can pass through buildings using osmosis if need be.
Chuck La Chez and lilpup - thank you for your reply. I will certainly check those sites out.
THAT was an awesome episode.
Great episode tonight. Glad I didn't give up on the show during those couple of slow episodes earlier in the season, the whole thing did a 180... Plot is better, characters are better developed, acting is better, camera work is better, flow is better, shots of the city are better. It's like a completely different Detroit 1-8-7. I legitimately dig it.
