My parents had the same 313-881 [[Tuxedo) prefix for 50 years... mom finally passed away this year, and I was wondering if I could somehow preserve using the same number [[which is still in service under her name, since we have yet to sell the house). Can I use her landline number for this type of service? Usually cellular numbers start with a NXX [[1st 3 digits of the local number) that have a middle digit of 0 or 1... but I was wondering if this is possible for a landline number?

I don't know if it's possible but I love the idea. I grew up with a twinbrook exchange [[893), would love to have that number again.

My parents also had a 313-381 [[First ATlantic then DUnkirk) prefix since they started the 313 area code in 1947. I am still using the same number 70 years after it was first issued.
