Attatchments

I want to upload some pictures, but I'm nearing/at my limit for attatchments. Can I somehow delete or move them somewhere, so I can free up space but not have them removed from the thread they were posted in? One thing I like is going thru old threads and looking at the pictures. If I remove them from my list of attatchments, they're removed from the thread. How do I avoid this?

We have increased your attachment allotment considerably. We make this increase this for anyone reaching their limit upon request. We need to cap attachments by default to prevent an upload attack with the potential to fill the server disk space and take the message board offline.

If you [or any other forum member] hit the cap again just let us know.
