Some schools are starting to transition to electronic books. With wireless they can be updated transparently. It would be interesting to hack that mechanism but I'm sure they secure it well. This trend will be inevitable once it starts. That should reduce production costs drastically and so also consumer prices.

As for other education costs, it should be a crime. Education should be free for all.

And in many other nations, education *is* free. But here in the good ole hard-working USofA, that's just socialism that would cause our back-breaking taxes to go up.

I mean, geez. If you start letting everyone get a college degree for free, how in the hell are we supposed to maintain a permanent underclass? I say, make it MORE expensive, that way, only idiot kids from wealthy families will be able to earn MBAs to run daddy's business. All of us other poor suckers just need to work harder to be born into better families next time.

    Sarcasm understood and appreciated.

Consider what motives would be held by those who would advocate depriving taxpayers of deriving benefit from investing in star students otherwise lost.
