One of our steadfast posters, and active parishioner discovered the photos in the basement of the church and was kind enough to have the photos packaged and sent for copying.

    Things to ponder..
The pictures are currently stored in large Hefty storage bags.
IMO, pictures should be displayed in proper fashion [[framed) in an area which offers the best and most frequent viewability.
If stored, where should they be stored? [[Z's concern of buildings closing and/or abandoned is a valid point)
What did other schools do that closed? What happened when the entire Parish closed?..Are the pictures stored with the Archdiocese?
Anyway, I'd hate to see part of our history lost.

On a similar note there is a St. Jude football sports program from the early 60s that for the life of me can not locate. The programs had photos of the team, list of boosters, advertisers etc. One of the programs had a picture of my dad who was treasurer of the Dad's club in the early 60s. The program [[8 large glossy pages)reflected the hey day of St. Jude School/Parish...great sports programs, many kids, many clubs, a band that played at half time....etc. The football games were played on Sunday afternoons at St. Jude Playfield. I recall the sidelines were filled shoulder to shoulder with St. Jude fans.....Someday that program, hopefully, will "show up."
I think I have a Dad's Club program, KR ... from 1964 ... it's whereabouts is a mystery right now, but I will check my archives [[in other words, rummage through every box of miscellaneous in my basement).

I had forgot that Fr. Bodie was the athletic director.
It looks like the there were about 30 players on the team in 1961.
For a moment I thought that our question of team names might be answered in the program.

7K, When you get a chance could you download the files in photobucket also. There might be a little more detail gained by a larger format. Thanks Again!

When I called the Archdiocese last week, they said they don't store photos or other memorabilia, so they are out. They shouldn't be in plastic bags, I think that will further damage them. An interim solution might be hanging them in the Parish hall [[i.e. old convent) until we can come up with a permanent solution.

The originals are going to a safe place in the rectory when KR is done as far as I know.

    Looking forward to scanning it.

I see on the 1961 program back cover is an ad for my all-time favorite bakery, Jason's Pastry Shoppe. The name had escaped me, but certainly not the memory of those giant sugar cookies ... free to a little kid who apprecated them very much.

Thanks to the find of this SJ Football program I found the answer to a long standing question I had. I had mentioned many times about another Barber Shop on Kelly right where State Fair ends. I knew it was owned by a brother of Frank & Rudy Ruggeri who owned the market on Boulder. Well, it turns out it was Kelly Barber Shop [[Duh). No wonder I couldn't remember the name it was too simple.

I have a 1969 St. Jude Football program, and a 1965 Wish Egan Athletic Club; Annual Baseball Banquet program, with no way to download it at the moment. Scanner broken, camera stolen. Anyone interested, let me know, maybe we can hook-up.

Frank and Rudy had the best brownies!

Mkap: That sucks about your camera. I've got the WE programs covered so if you could just get that football program dowloaded at some point that would be great!
