I say, Papa, it apears we are both on the same page here. Well said. What so many people fail to realize is these guys with R and D next to thier names go to work in the same building on the same street in the same town as one another, and they are not mortal enemies. These folks joke and talk with one another, compromise on values, golf together, eat and party together [[on our dime), and care more about power than principle or the public.
They both suck. The parties, and most of the individuals.
And you are last on thier list of priorities.
Nor should they be. They are working within one government and they should attempt to work with each other and have a collegial relationship.
Some not-too-surprising info on the recent BP hearings in Congress.

"Wall Street plans payback for reg reform," trumpets Politico this morning, in a piece examining the tension between financial services industries and lawmakers who have hammered Wall Street and are nevertheless asking for campaign contributions. The piece is peppered with data from the Center for Responsive Politics, as well as analysis by the Center's executive director, Sheila Krumholz. According to Politico, some banks, including Goldman Sachs, have discussed not hosting any fundraisers for Democrats backing the major financial regulatory reform legislation. One senior Wall Street bank executive told the newspaper, "I think at least in the short term there is going to be a great deal of frustration with people who were beating the hell out of us -- then turning around and asking for money."

... which makes it more difficult to argue that these "campaign contributions" are not, in reality, bribes. One senior Wall Street bank executive told the newspaper, "I think at least in the short term there is going to be a great deal of frustration with people who were beating the hell out of us -- then turning around and asking for money."
