ya Whaler...Ted's restaurant and Drive In was the place for us highschoolers...pretty much what eventually got the Woodward cruise started...also is where one night after I got back from Nam my father gave me my 6-string Guild flattop...he knew the musician who was playing there, and my guitar was sitting on the stage when we went to eat dinner..the guy said.."will Gary please take the stage, and then publically announced...this is your guitar"...

As a family, we never ate out much, but when we did it was usually Brownies Diner in Wayne. Thanks for the memories First Lady

Thanks Whaler. I only regret not being there to throw one back with you. You met Lopez, yes? That's if you didn't know him already. Which is highly unlikely, considering how you get around. He's only been involved, as owner or manager, in a half dozen of the most notable restaurants/clubs in the city. Lots of fun working with him. Holler at me next time so I can meet and hang with you for a while. I haven't seen Kim since opening night. PS: nice story about Ted's. People talk about how much I got around. You and Gleeman got me beat. Ted's was the far reaches of the world for a SW side/downriver kid. I did go a few times - in my dad's Rambler American. So you know for sure I blew someones doors off, racing on Woodward. Har, har.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know that.

Ha - that photo of Gary was taken at my 28th birthday party at a bar in Saline MI. From what I remember we all had waaaay too much fun. Larry carried me back to my apartment which was over a small department store on Main street just a block away from the bar. [[and behind the local police department)

Larry did what????? Stoney, why did you get all the cool jobs? It must've been the Rock Star thing.

Hey firstlady......in that Mark Knopfler youtube video link you can see what a great guitar player he is, but the guy that ramps that tune up to warp speed is the drummer. Rock solid and dynamic as hell. Drummer21 must have been giving him lessons....been onstage with Jeep when he's done things like that......goosebumps!

1kd......I think I was the only one left who could walk, and this was an obvious "Pearls Before Swine" situation.

FYI: Ruth is really, really cute when she's drunk....and funny!!

Hey Ruth......You're very welcome; and, you are not a rude person so..........well, you had it going on...to say the least. It was one helluva party! Do you remember the mess Dave Karas and I made in your kitchen? Didn't we get into a beer spraying contest....or something? It was a great gig for Stonefront--unplugged. Thanks for having us.

oh yes - the beer spraying contest - I think I unintentionally hosted more than one of those years.....A few took place on Morgan Rd too.Of course most of those happened around the swimming pool.

And she is really cute and funny when she's sober. So that means in order for Ruth to be really, really cute and funny, we have to get her really, really drunk. I'm in! Howsabout you guys?
