Default Much of this forum is like Monopoly as a spectator sport

It's an aspect of civic {so-called} boosterism that bores me to death.

Yeah, being 2k miles away in Nevada, however, allows me to keep up on what's going on in the old town. Love my desert home but I'll always miss Motown.

Not at all sure of what your point is for starting this thread? I've been on this forum for 24 years, and we've talked about such a variety of different topics that you can find something on just about anything if you use the search function. As for boosterism... isn't that what this forum is all about? The evolution of going from Ruin Porn to Rebirth for so much related to Detroit.

And yes... it will still be a work in progress for so many many years...

Lol whoosh - Monopoly = a few players sitting around a board moving real estate around while throwing out insane numbers, some strive for park avenue or boardwalk and roll the dice and do not get to pass go while others dominate a strip and build hotels on it.

The game of monopoly, which is what is happening,do not worry about it,you are just a spectator

OK... I'm up to speed now...

Actually many folks here love to talk about developments, and which ones are actually built. Monopoly doesn't have "Skipper's Rule"... which basically says I'll believe the development when it is actually finished.

Actually, tournament Monopoly began right here in Detroit, with the world's first monopoly tournament founded by the late Lee Weisenthal in I believe 1963.

Many people talk like they are preservationists of our wonderful Theater District but nobody bothered to honor the passing of the man who did the most good?

Yes, it's all about boosterism. And moving posts that use the word 'boosterism' outside the pale.

You must have missed it then. It was already talked about on a different thread... just not one with his name on it.

It’s the cities job to instill hope and make it appear as though the city is moving forward, can’t really expect them to say sorry guys we are screwed, might as well pack it up.
