Plane crash on east side around 1959

I'm sure that would happen there as that Vulcan bomber creamed in at about a 70 degree angle and we sure didn't find many big pieces. It was a sloppy mess during the clean-up. At times I was knee deep in the sloppy mud trying to find pieces. I'm sure at least 50% of that aircraft is still there in the ground.

I lived on Ashland between Jefferson and Kercheval and was walking to the A&P on Jefferson when I heard the plane's engines sputtering [[couldn't see the plane) but saw a huge fireball go in an arc from west to east. We later went down to the site and the largest pieces of the plane that we found were about 1" x 5".
