Did anyone shop at Big Bear Market on Greenfield & Plymouth Road in the 1950s & 60s? How about G & C Market [[Greenfield & W. Chicago)?

My mom did her shopping there during the 60's. I don't remember that name though. I thought it was Bi-Lo or Packers. There was Henry's Hamburgers across the street.
I worked for Big Bear at 6 and Greenlawn for three months one summer as a packer/carry out. Hated it. Main office for the stores was at Fullerton and Greenfield as I recall. Parent company was Borman Foods. Sure was glad to quit that job, and I still get memories when I smell the inside of a supermarket today. It has the same odor, probably the produce I suppose.
Big Bear Produce Dept. mantra: Sell it or smell it."
jjaba worked at several Big Bears and Wrigley's, both Bormans out on Fullerton near Nash-Kelvinator HQ.
Wrigleys, Greenlawn and W. Davison; Wrigleys, Greenfield and Grand River; Big Bear, Dexter and Davison.; Big Bear, Linwood and Joy.
jjaba, carryout, stock boy, dairy boy, cashier. At your service on the Westside.
Yes there was a Henry's Hamburgers on Greenfield just north of Plymouth Road. After they demolished the restaurant, the sign "Henry's Hamburgers" remained standing for many years!
