We lived on Rohns just down from Eddie's store on Chapin. Also went to Mr. Murphy's store before walking home after school from Chandler Elementary

That is when neighborhoods in detroit were communities. There were many African American owned businesses in the neighborhood then. Mr Murphy, the owner of Rohns Market, two stores on Fischer at the corner of Moffat, etc. I used to go to the A&P on Gratiot and Crane. I used to love going to thr boat dealer to look at boats on Gratiot and Fischer
