Detroit has a lot of industrial design heritage, especially in that building and in the school that's now occupying that building.

I hope that as more of these small high end manufacturing operations start here, designers will pop up too.

i'm kind of curious about the Shinola brand. Of all the brand names to resurrect, why that one? It was a shoe polish, foe pete's sake. best known for the phrase "you don't know shit from shinola"

Love it. I think that the Detroit in brand name association is very clever and indicative of a Made in USA trend that could do very well.

This in my view is very good for the image of the city.
