Sorry. What were the numbers on those bills again?

Frankly, cnsnews.com is way too intellectual for my tastes. I get my news from the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, and PBS, because they dumb it down to my level.

Also, I can spell "mainstream media". You can't. Nyah nyah.

Before I respond, would you care to explain how Senator Tom Coburn introduced legislation into the House?

My bad..trying to grab the info you asked and cutting & pasting too quickly for my own good.
That said, since you seem to be so well informed, why the intentionally obtuse posts earlier?

This afternoon, I listened to an interview with Congressman Bob Inglis [[R-SC) on South Carolina's ETV Radio [[affiliated with NPR). Congressman Inglis, of Travelers Rest in the Upstate, represents one of the most conservative districts in the nation. Rep. Joe Wilson has been going through Congressman Inglis's district raising money for his opponents in next year's primaries, where it has been remarked that Bob Inglis is "not conservative enough".

The interview, I thought, was interesting. Congressman Inglis seems to believe very much in the principles of conservatism, but remarked that he is scared at the current level of political discourse. One of the points he made is [[I'm paraphrasing), "Democrats are not our enemy, they are our countrymen. I may not like all their ideas, and I may think my ideas are better, but that doesn't mean we can't work together. Health care is a complicated issue that requires a lot of deliberative thought, and yelling and screaming doesn't accomplish that."

After listening to the interview, it occurred to me that there wouldn't be such an outrage from the left and center toward people like Joe Wilson, if the GOP delegation all made reasoned, dispassionate arguments and commentary as Congressman Inglis. As Congressman Inglis said, "There's no reason to be angry about being a conservative. If you're angry, and you think that things are only going to get worse, why would anyone want to be on your side? I believe the best days of America are ahead of us."

I've been looking for text or audio online. If I can find it, I'll post it here, as the conversation was very thoughtful and well-reasoned.

What have you done to raise the level of discourse? Your posts are typically shrill, argumentative, disparaging and insulting. Are you part of the problem?

Because intelligent, rational folks like him are scorned and shunned by the powers in the Republican Party is why many worry that intellectual conservatism, in this country is dead.

You don't have to look any further than Michigan's own Mike Rogers if you'd like to see "intelligent discourse from the right" on the subject of health care reform.

Real conservative solutions are too radical for even the most right leaning republicans to propose...a stalemate and a real shame.

"Die Quickly", the most honest, accurate statement about the Republicrat 'Health Care' plan, to date.

"Destroy Health Care" would be the most honest and accurate description of the liberals plot then.

I'm waiting for the post where Cc insists that the Democratic plan will require rounding up all doctors and nurses and shooting them in the head.

That will come after a plan is passed with a public option. The fascist right descends into madness incrementally.

Just watch the propaganda fueled by the corporate masters during so-called 'town hall' meetings through their proxies like the fascist "Freedom Works" and Richard Mellon Scaife/Rick Berman supported right wing astroturfing organizations.

Never forget the Reich has one agenda- trounce any and all ideas coming out of the Obama Administration, regardless of upside or downside. Sort of an equal opportunity discrimination mantra.

It's amazing how dumb those serving as self-identified Rehtuglicans continue to do so- proving they haven't an ounce of shame.

The party's over for the elephant in the room. Those that remain have identified themeselves with the craziest fringe- sychophants, xenophobes, Jesusfreaks and the like. That's why they need to be ignored, and systematically broomed from the political landscape, since they haven't offered a single piece of supportable legislation in years. State and national level.

Excuse me. Do you ever read what you write? A few posts up the thread, you're claiming that Republican's are fascists, then you type this load of bullshit? Dude, you could have been one of Mussolini's favorite propaganda writers if only you hadn't been born so late..

The only bullshit here is coming from you, "dude."

You obviously don't understand there is nothing materially different in what I post about Rethuglicans being fascists and being sychophants, xenophobes, Jesusfreaks, etc. They all fit hand in hand. Guess you missed civics class.

That is, unless you're a supporter of Rethuglicans, then your post makes more sense.

Stick to embroidery, it's not as complicated.

Lorax, did they teach you the term "Rethuglicans" in civic class? I'm sorry, I try to respect your viewpoints, yet, when you use terms like this it makes me wonder if you have any idea what you are taking about.

Funny, Lorax..I read your posts, and all I see is someone who mouths the words fed him by liberal writers. This is made brutally obvious by the broad brush you use to paint your supposed opposite numbers with.
You quote the talking points, you mouth the slogans, you say nothing which requires original thought, and you speak outright bullshit when I compare your views of "Rethuglicans" to the reality of the conservative side of things that I've observed in real life..

Do you have any opinions of your own, based on first-hand observation, or will I have to wait for Nancy Pelosi to supply you with a reply?

Sorry if my creative license offends, but the right gets the respect it deserves from me after 8 years of murder and mayhem in Iraq and Afghanistan, destruction of our nation's economy, and continued coarsening of our politics thanks to the Bush Crime Family, among others.

At least you know where I'm coming from.

And for your information Douggie, I have been thinking and speaking this way for thirty years and have been consistent in my political views, which, in case you haven't been reading my posts are those of a socialist. Nancy Pelosi doesn't speak for me, and there is nothing in my posts that would indicate that.

You're a blinded partisan, who sees only in black and white, and politics as either/or. No gray areas for you my friend.

Obama has proven himself to be a steady and true conservative president, a centrist, really, but doesn't go nearly far enough as far as I'm concerned.

If you really want to know how I look at things, Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich are the current serving memebers of congress I could most identify with. Both are socialists, and both would have made better presidents.

Never been a mystery, Cc. He's said so in as many words, several times. Just as you have said, several times, that you're an Objectivist. *shrug* We are what we are.

You really should pay better attention.

The entire rethuglican is akin to the mouth breathers that write democrap. Such terms are shrill and argumentative. They show that the writer is of a lower intellectual standing and should be pitied and dismissed for their inability to have an original thought. Especially when the same broken record is played over and over and over. It is tiresome.

That's why I suggest the Ignore function. You go into your user Control Panel and you hit Ignore List. Enter the name of who'd you like to ignore and all their posts disappear.

It is very refreshing to not be bothered by ignorant posts. I highly recommend it. 4 stars.
