    Default Measles making a comeback

Third case of measles appears in Metro Detroit. This disease was nearly irradicated until Jennie McCarthy among others decided they knew better than doctors and immunologists and convinced people that the vaccines were giving their kids autism. Just wait until some of the newer generations start having handicapped kids due to mom being exposed while pregnant...

Most of the measles outbreaks in the past few decades have been in California and Arizona, with scatterings of outbreaks in Minnesota, Texas and New York. None, really, in Florida.

Is it not mandatory in schools in the U.S.? Most parents are the last ones smart enough to decide what's best for their kids. The internet of course isn't helping. They search until they find a nutcase opinion that matches theirs and then say "see I told you!"

As far as I know, it's still mandatory, but if you can come up with some half-assed excuse, they don't even try to make the kids get them. Against your religion, some medical issue, bad day at the office. And then there are the home schoolers. Not sure what the rules are in Charter schools.

The anti vaccine crowd combined with the overwhelmed immigration system and this was bound to happen. Not only is Measles making a comeback here, but Polio has been detected in NYC wastewater and Malaria and even Leprosy in Texas and South Florida.

And if people had gotten the vaccines for their children over the past 30/40 years we would still have herd immunity and not be seeing outbreaks of disease that were nearly irradicated 50 yrs ago.
And malaria is not contagious. I don't think leprosy was ever eradicated; it's rare but about 100 people in the US are diagnosed every year. Neither of those fit the case because there was never a vaccine.

Michigan measles cases: What you need to know
Health officials are keeping a very close eye on three measles cases in three different counties.

The current migrant crisis [as officially admitted now] can't NOT be considered regarding varied diseases rising once again.

But you're not suppose to notice, or mention it. But more are.

The migrant largess [at least 8 ML in three years] makes it increasing hard to negate these disease factors.

Surely you don't mean to imply that he might be an infectious immigrant in disguise? We all know those immigrants can be very crafty.

Has anyone seen his birth certificate?

There are moves in several states to officially allow 'religious' exemptions simply by Mom or Pop saying so.

IF some people had had the brains to have kids vaccinated for measles, polio, mumps, etc over the past couple decades instead of deciding on their own that they didn't need vaccines anymore because the diseases were irradicated, we would still have herd immunity. Diseases brought in from countries where they either don't have vaccines or they aren't available to all wouldn't spread as readily. I guess it's easier to blame it on immigrants than it is to blame those who think they know better than doctors

This is a 'both/and' issue. Pathogens, viruses certainly don't discriminate.

Two things can occure at the same time!

Both are a problem: non vaxxers and the migrant wave [8 ML+ and counting].

    And syphilis!

    From the Detroit News:

"Mirroring national patterns, the number of syphilis cases doubled in Michigan between 2017 and 2022, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. In Detroit alone, which has the highest number of cases in the state, cases nearly tripled during the same period.

"In 2022, 207,255 cases of syphilis were reported nationwide, the greatest number since 1950, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is an explosion of cases compared with 2000, when 5,979 cases of primary and secondary syphilis were reported in the U.S., 288 of which were in Wayne County, according to the CDC."

I Kinda think it’s is hard to say everybody that got the measles got it because they did not get vaccinated,I did not ask them
    personally anyways.
