Hamtramck is back in Muslim-related news after its council narrowly passed a resolution to rename a one mile section of Holbrook Street “Palestine Avenue” in the enclave's latest show of support for war-torn Gaza.

Citing “a symbolic gesture” of “remembrance” and “solidarity” the resolution was narrowly passed by a 4-3 vote by the City Council of the Muslim-majority Detroit enclave city on Dec. 12. It follows the council's early November passage of a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hamtramck has previously been in the news over issues of banning Pride flags from city property and the allowing of animal sacrifices.

A Muslim-majority Metro Detroit city is changing the name of a street to show support for Palestinians amid the devastating months-long war in Gaza.

Not to diminish the gesture, but it's an "honorary" change meaning addresses and "legal designations" won't change because of this alone. I was wondering how the post office would cope with it. I guess they don't have to.

When Muslims took over Hamtramck, they can do whatever they want in that tiny 'Little Mecca'.

1. They kept the LGBTQ Flags out.
2. They can yell out their call to prayer [[Allahu Abkar)!
3. They can name whatever place in Hamtramck they want just as Black folks in Detroit can name any street, school and monument to any black heroines.

They can get rid of Pope Hall and call it Muhammed Hall. [[pbuh)!

Do you all think that changing the street name from Holbrook St. to Palestine Ave. is racist? Just as Jewish folks who used to lived to in NW Detroit hoods along ago change Coolidge St. to Schaefer HWY?

If ethnic and other people of color take over any city in the U.S. they can much as they want.

Hamtramck is now called 'Hamtramckstan' because folks all around has seen the first Muslim populated city and Dearborn is next.

You have women’s groups that are protesting in support of HAMAS,try that over there and you would be publicly stoned as a woman.

They have spent 2000 years killing each other and the only time they come together is of an outsider kills one of them,even though they have vowed to make it their life’s mission to kill that person.

HAMAS is a multi billion dollar corporation,who is in the business of terrorism and picked Gaza as their headquarters,2.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza and excepted HAMAS as their leader because they promised them to kill the Jews for them.

Those were everyday Gazan citizens,men,women and children that were kicking,spitting and hitting with sticks and stones as Hamas brought the captured Israeli hostages through the streets.

4 out of 5 adult males in Gaza are unemployed while HAMAs steals the million in aid sent.

There were 5 coups in Africa in the last couple of years and 16 million Palestinians across the world,easy enough for them to grab a country for their own,considering it is Africa nobody else in the world is going to care one way or another and God left it decades ago,so no nasty little Christians to bother with.

But you really cannot expect to tell somebody that it is your entire life mission to kill them and not get some kind of reaction out of them.

Without HAMAS the Palestinians could have easily made Gaza the Jewel that it was,but instead they chose to pay homage to and support a terrorist group that not only spends every second of their life vowing to kill Jews ,but keeps their own people buried in the dirt of poverty so they can collect billions.

Everybody else in the world is welcome to genocide 10s of thousands Muslims in the blink of an eye with zero problem,but let a Jew do it as a matter of survival and boy it sure becomes game on,kill a Jew and you get a street named after you in honor.

Interesting enough for as many Canadians that flee to Florida every year for the sanctuary,we never seem to be inclined to name streets after them.

I guess we could have a little park and plant a maple tree and a statue of a moose in homage,but since even our large Muslim community assimilates into society and everybody just does their own thing without expecting special recognition from anybody,creating a Canadian park would just single Canadians out in a world where they are not anymore special then anybody else.

Or calling for more aid to be delivered faster so the weapons in the bags of international rice get past security.
