The city announced Wednesday afternoon that it has “initiated a strategic realignment of its organizational structure,” one that will “better serve the needs of its residents and streamline municipal operations.”

If every taxpayer of every city had $1 for every time they heard that from a politician,it would cover their tax obligations.

Its kinda what one is elected to do and a basic expectation.

It's no different in the U.S.. Towns and cities being incorporated just means they have certain boundaries and responsible for their own garbage collection, sewers, etc. You've actually never heard of that?

The “corporation” quote I snipped was about the removal of the city attorney and engineer,with the mayor referring to city government as a “corporation”.
