^ so you are referring to the homeless as animals?

Some people need to get religion.

Disclaimer,I did not read the article but if that is the takeaway,no point in wasting time reading it.

What happened to the tiny homes project that was planned for Detroit? Many are one paycheck away from being homeless. I am not putting the blame in the Ford Motor Company for their removal. It put the blame on the City of Detroit for not having programs to assist the homeless and areas that could be set up for tiny homes probably made of metal containers for the homeless

    LÁ spent $1 billion
    SF spent $1.1 billion
    NYC spent $2.4 billion

    In one year

According to researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, the cost of building a 100-unit affordable project in California in 2016 was $425,000 per unit. Multiply that by 160,000 and you’re looking at a cost of $68 billion in California alone.

That’s the thing with homelessness, the billions spent every year on the federal ,state and local make for some pretty nice paychecks, why would anybody want to find a solution?

You make money off of the poor and not the rich.

According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, it would cost $20 billion to end homelessness in the United States.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness calculated that, in 2021, the U.S. federal government enacted over $51 billion in funding for selected homelessness and housing programs. This, of course, does not include city, county, or private dollars invested in homelessness and affordable housing as well.

According to Giving USA 2021: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2020, giving to human services totaled $65.14 billion.

Do the math, there are billions of dollars floating out there, all for the taking, all you have to do is say you have a solution and it rains, you do not actually have to have a solution, you just have to make it sound good.

There is a tiny home area, it's off Woodrow Wilson. You can see it when you're driving down the Lodge. It's pretty damm cool.

all of those buses are showing almost full, but there is always a massive influx of homelessness snowbirds in the fall.

Here the majority are homeless because they want to be,lots of really nice Salvation Army facilities that help people get their feet back on the ground and a recent survey when it comes to free health care coverage, only 22% of those eligible actually sign up.

Here there is plenty of help for those who want to be helped, but they have to want to be helped.

There is a difference between U.S. citizens needing help verses northern cities that claim compassion and a willingness to be sanctuary cities when it comes to illegal immigrants, but notice how mad they got when the illegal were delivered to them ?

Its easy lip service to be the champion of immigration, until you are faced with the reality.

But the thread was about homelessness in Corktown which is no different then the homelessness problem across the country.

It was actually democrat cities in California that started the whole bussing the homeless out of the city long ago to get rid of them, all they seemed to do was multiply in the process.

Sorry. The article simply says that nobody knows what to do about homelessness. Homeless are being pushed out of Corktown and may be coming to your neighborhood or mine next.
