One thing he didn't mention here is the need to beware of scapegoating.

When a shrewd predator is cornered, they'll often deflect attention toward a scapegoat. Some members of the angry mob will fall for that deception even though the scapegoat is being harmed too.

Always ask "cui bono?" to tell the difference.

There is little trust in the government because of recent events!

The basis of the constitution and the formation of this country was based on not trusting the government and keeping it as small as possible, but it has become the largest employer in the country.

    No opportunity in America ?

Why because it is not handed to you in a box at Christmas?

There has been more minorities and women getting into business in the last 30 years then they entire history of the country before, that opportunity was not handed to them because they were born, they got it by fighting for it like everybody else.

Look around Detroit and say Ross Perot was wrong?

Sense the 1950s even the union has lost over 50% of its membership because of that sucking sound of jobs leaving the country and being replaced by low paying service jobs.

Americans as a collective are complacent in their own demise because they continue to support everybody else in the world but their neighbor.

The hypocrisy of doing everything in your power in order to remove the earning power so you can complain you do not have earning power.

The evil titans of business, they have been around from day 1,if the evil business owners did not take the risk that you are afraid of doing, you would not even have a job to begin with, you have the same opportunity as they did.

The truth is the average person has more opportunity to become successful now then the last 100 years.

People getting mad because we are not a socialist country when by design we were never designed to become one.

The editorial board at the Detroit News is circling the wagons as it has for the past 75 years, manspreading neoliberal propaganda as to why trickle-down lifts all boats.

What is your opinion, especially those of you in the auto industry or those dependent on it in some manner? [Maybe that's all of us in some way.] Will there be strike? If so, will it be a long one? What will be the outcomes?

And is anyone going to the show?

It is ironic that the strike took place at the same exact time as the auto show [[which I still dislike the fact that it was moved from Winter to Fall, because hardly anything is going on after Christmas downtown). But according to what I was told the UAW encouraged members to not attend the auto show this year, as it would support the auto companies and not the union members at this time.

The Autoshow was probably a flop this year probably due to the strike. There were no outdoor events at Hart Plaza such as there were last year with the giant yellow duck greeting attendees close to the entrance. No festivals throughout downtown Detroit as part of the Autoshow. I support the union. However was having this strike around the time of the autoshow really had help the cause or was just a short term victory resulting in a long term negative effect. The silent boycotting and sabotaging of the Autoshows positive impact in Detroit had probably cost the city millions in revenue from the event. The foreign automaker had really won over for the strike hadn't impacted them during the low attendance to this year's autoshow.

The Autoshow originally was held in the fall until it was moved to January in the 70s. It was a great idea to move it to a warmer month so that the show could extend outdoors as it had done last year. It still would had done better in late June as was originally planned but covid and the thought that moving the event to September would fall into the time the next year's model are put out. That doesn't fly due to the following year's model comes out as early as February of the current year. Having the event in January these past 50 plus years only showcased models that came out the previous September so that logic is thrown out of the window
