Not only Teamsters, wait for the UAW contract. Labor has the upper hand as long as the labor market is in short supply.

And as long as neoliberalism is in disfavor. But a little brainwashing and propaganda by industrialists can easily turn that around to the point where American peons begin to cheer for the re-offshoring of work. There's no limit to the spin and havoc that Madison Ave. can create.

30,000 just lost their jobs. Put out of work by non-unionized companies. They'll get jobs easily but not at the same rate. Meanwhile gov't loses 700 million - and people still complain about bailing out GM & Chrysler.

Nothing Madison Ave. can't paper over with little more brainwashing and propaganda, so that American peons continue to oppose labor unions and support Appalachian-style poverty.

"The Teamsters actions induced a high level of variability and uncertainty in the market for Yellow's customers. The market abhors variability and uncertainty," wrote Mike Regan, co-founder of TranzAct Technologies, which manages transportation services for retailers. "Consequently, Yellow lost substantial and much needed volume."

After the strike threat, Yellow's freight volumes fell 80% within the span of a week, according to Jack Atkins, a managing director at the financial services firm Stephens who researches the transportation sector.

25,000 lost their jobs when the hospitality union went on strike against Atlantic City casinos and forced the casinos into bankruptcy.

People are not mad because the auto manufacturers were bailed out, they were mad because the UAW was bailed out while being the highest paid workers in the automotive sector in the country.

The government bailout of General Motors [[GM) and Chrysler between 2008 and 2009 will cost taxpayers between $17 and $20 billion. The entirety of these losses occurred because the Administration gave the United Auto Workers [[UAW) special treatment. The UAW recovered far more in the bankruptcy than it had a legal right to:

Labor unions spent around $1.8 billion on “political activities and lobbying” during the 2020 election cycle, a study published last Friday by the National Institute for Labor Relations Research [[NILRR) concluded.

    https://dailycaller.com/2021/07/26/l...ction-pro-act/

If any private company in the country spent $1.8 billion on campaign contributions they would be raked over the coals.

Why does the labor union need to spend $1.8 billion per election cycle ?

One could say they are attempting to alter the election results to their favor by influencing the vote to their advantage.

Not sure why they were so quiet when American jobs were flowing overseas, one would think if they were so much for the workers they would have spoke up.
