Detroit Kite Festival


Kite enthusiasts of all ages can share the joy of kite flying at this festival that will also include music, food, and drinks.
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Belle Isle Cricket Field near James Scott Memorial Fountain in Detroit. Drivers will need to pay for a recreation passport to be on the island.

12th Annual Uncle Sam Jam Festival


This four-day festival will feature more than 30 amusement rides, a petting zoo, free concerts, Shell-Camino Monster Truck rides, a classic car show on Sunday, fireworks on Friday and more.
There will be local and regional acts performing, including The Prince Project, Buckcherry, Jackyl, Everclear, Sponge and Fresh Horses.
4-11 p.m. Thursday; 4-midnight Friday; noon-midnight Saturday; and noon-11 p.m. Sunday at the Civic Center Park in Woodhaven. Free offsite parking and shuttles will be available throughout the weekend at Kohl’s, 20840 West Road in Woodhaven. Onsite parking ranges from $10-$15.

Freedom Arts Festival


Detroit Parks Coalition and People for Palmer Park presents this family-friendly event that will include a free concert and art showcase to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Detroit Walk to Freedom, a civil rights march held on June 23, 1963, with various art displays that explore themes of freedom

There will be live musical performances from Marion Hayden, Freedom Sounds and King Mellowman and Mellow Runnings.
2-6 p.m. Sunday at Palmer Park in Detroit. Free admission.

Clark Park Culture & Arts Festival


Bring your chairs and join a celebration of Clark Park featuring musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and local arts organizations that include Ballet Folklorico Moyocoyani Izel, Living Arts, Matrix Theatre Company’s Playback Theatre Troupe, and more.
1-4 p.m. Saturday at Clark Park, 1130 Clark St. in Detroit. Free admission.

Lakefront Psychic & Holistic Festival

This event for the body, mind and spirit will offer guests a range of psychics, mediums, astrology chart readings, energy healing, body workers, aura photography, crystals, holistic and metaphysical products, home decor, clothing, CBD products and more with over 70 vendors expected. There will also be live music featuring local folk artists and food trucks.
4-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the VFW Bruce Post #1145, 28404 Jefferson Ave. in St. Clair Shores. General admission is $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday and Sunday. Children 12 and younger admitted free.
