He was fine. It's his first game, and against one of the best LTs in the NFL. He got some good pressures against a mobile QB and defended the run very well. Lots to improve, but it's really weird seeing all these Spartan fans frothing at the mouth for him to be a failure. There's some bad energy in that fanbase.
Btw, didn't Stafford throw like three picks and 0 TDs in his debut?
Fast forward to Sunday, he recorded 3 sacks and is the 1st since Julius Peppers to have 3 sacks in his first two games. Hutch will be just fine. And St Brown is fast developing into one of the best receivers in the NFL. Who saw that coming?
Incredible first half. Felt like either Hutchinson or Swift could blow the game wide open at any point. Goff played pretty well, despite key injuries on the O-Line. Speaking of O-Line, nice moment in the locker room for Dan Skipper who was cut on Hard Knocks, made the practice squad and ended up starting at a position he rarely plays. Skip! Skip! Skip! Skip!
Same Ole Lions!

They really blew that lead. An early missed field goal. Goff goofed! with 5 last chances pass plays. Three of them went incomplete.
1-2
Three down Fourteen to go.
Please stop making too many bad plays bad ole putty tats!
Bobby Layne Curse continues.

More than in the past, seems like teams are going for it on 4th down -- at least the Lions are doing so. Is it prudent? Perhaps it is when your premier RB and WR are healthy.
Coach Campbell gambled and won more often than not. But who knew that trying that final failed FG was such a gamble? I wonder if the team will be shopping for a new FG kicker this week.

It's easy to be a Monday morning football coach but....
I'm not sure what Campbell was thinking when he went for that field goal. That stadium was drafty, there was wind currents going through there and the Lions place kicker is suspect anyway. Obviously, he doesn't trust his defense, but he should have punted and tried to pin the Vikings back deep.
I've said it before and it's worth repeating. Lions start out badly again, Campbell isn't going to like the T.V. lights as well as he does now.
Fact: Aidan Hutchinson Total Tackles; ZERO - solo, assisted, sacks.
You already knew they would lose, Campbell's "game management" leash is on the clock. . .SOL's!
Agree with all below, and he now admits he was wrong. The Lions are a young team with a young coach. Both have to learn the balance between risk and reason and that tiny errors aren't. Nonetheless, this is an entertaining team in the games to the end.

Yes, The Detroit Lions had too many younger teams and not enough veteran teams to help them young teams shake off their college football years. Once you're in a National Football League team. Your city league expects you to move your behinds or get cut. I hope they don't get a career ending injury and a bad ego, too.

That was a terrible call to try that FG. Not as bad as Marty Mornhinweg's taking the wind in overtime, but it was right up there in the annuls of bonehead Lions coaching decisions.
Good Lord, you punt. You try and pin them back; they were out of time outs. Make the Vikings do what they had to do.

Exactly....
While we're waiting for Danny, I have a question - Has a team ever lead the NFL in points scored and allowed?
Same ole cursed Lions!

Goff goofed again with the interception. Didn't look before he leap. And they fumbled the ball. Well Coach Campbell are you so hyped up to lose more games?
Four down thirteen to go.
Lost our three top players to the Bobby Layne Curse.
Sell the team Ford Family.
At 1-3 in the NFC, chances of not making the playoffs is 85%!
Campbell's weekly deflection of "cleaning things up" while pushing the "grit" narrative & winning just 4 of 21 games so far will generate dialog on new HC candidates & HBO is not returning next year!
Opponent points per game rank:

The Ford family is the main culprit to a losing Lions team. Golf, a great quarterback, is just a bandage that's placed on the forehead while the hemorrhaging is occurring inside of the skull. Picture a Lions team with Goff, Suh, Johnson, and Swift with a great defense. Those are the ingredients to a championship team. However, as ex Beatles George Harrison had sang in on of his songs [[It's gonna take money. A whole lot of spending money). Apply those lyrics to how the Lions could make it to the Superbowl and win.
I never understand why people who have no interest in sports post about it. If you followed the league even slightly you would know that every team spends to the cap and player's salaries have nothing to do with it.The Ford family is the main culprit to a losing Lions team. Campbell has a plan B in the works. Switch the defense.
Wasn't Stafford one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league while he was with the Lions but money wasn't spend much on building the rest of the team? Miss me with that. I follow sports but just don't comment much about the Lions on here. This team has great potential and would be a force to be reckoned within they keep the same players but spend more on gaining seasoned vet's from others team possibly through trade
Your post was about the amount the Ford's spend. How they spend is the gm's job.Wasn't Stafford one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league while he was with the Lions but money wasn't spend much on building the rest of the team? Tightened up the D and didn't give up 30 today.

Five down twelve to go.
A too many turnovers on downs, Goff goofed for the 3rd time. And our offensive team sucked worse than the switched defense. Campbell, looks like you have two weeks to create a new offensive team as well. Those bad ole' putty tats are shut out.
Sell the team Ford Family as the Bobby Layne Curse continues.
