Why would you feel the need to wipe voting machines clean Clinton style if you had nothing to hide?

You would think the transparency level would be off the charts will a simple, here ya go we got nothing to hide, have at it.

It is easy to say no evidence of fraud if you are not looking for it.

Judge after judge. No evidence. Some judges have even pointed out that there wasn't even a coherent argument.

Face it, you lost. As hard as the GOP tried to disenfranchise minority voters both before and after the election, you lost. Accept it. I had to accept that Trump won the election [[despite losing the popular vote) back in 2016. You can accept that Trump has become even less popular in four years of bat-shit craziness that this time he lost even larger in the popular vote and also lost in the electoral college as well.

You lost. You're losing again and again in the courts. Every day I wake up, check Reddit, and find out how you still lost and are still losing.

You would wipe a voting machine for the same reason you wipe a computer after you are done with it: security.
I have 23 pcs at use in my department and they are wiped each time they are rebooted, which is roughly 6 times a day. They are public use computers and we have to wipe each users data off of them after each use so no one can appropriate their email, docs, phone numbers, etc.
You definitely would NOT leave voter data on a voting machine from one election to the next. I would imagine that after certification is done, they get wiped and wait for the next election.

I lost? I did not lose anything and you would be in the minority if you actually accepted Trumps win, people have been making it clear with the whole impeach the MFR sense day one.

Now you are thinking because Biden may have won it will be peaches and cream all of the sudden?

Its not about you or me or what we have to face, that’s the problem and we see the extent the partisan politics will continue as they were everyday on Reddit.

Its not about who won or lost, why are people so scared of testing the system,if you did not have anything to hide why should it bother anybody.

Its all time limited,a few more weeks and we will have the answers,it’s not like we are going to spend 4 years and hundreds millions of dollars pushing a fake narrative.

But then again who knows.Probably should be investing in popcorn companies.

I would not exactly call what just happened a win and why even bring up popular vote when it plays zero part in presidential election results?

Heck Biden has not even been confirmed yet and already he has the progressives and African American leaders pissed off at him because of his cabinet choices,do not forget all of this is not about who is sitting in the White House this is all about systematic change and Biden is now stuck right dab in the middle.

The EC is more fair, because it respects minority rights. I trust you think we need minority rights protection? I think we do.

As we continue to shift from rural to urban, this is even more important. The lack of empathy from urban to rural is problematic.

^^^ Much of current rural is former urban who fled. They have no sympathy or empathy for what they ran from. They only have relief it's behind them and fear it may follow.

Much like long time rural feared the urban flight now taking it over.

Explain how it protects minority rights. All the electoral college does is throw a balance of votes towards the Midwest where there are more Republican voters than Democrat but still not as many as there are in the urban areas of the east west and south coast. People vote not property. This is the same crap that they keep trying to spread about gerrymandering. That it makes things more fair somehow. A vote is a vote. If everybody gets a vote and they cast it, they have been treated fairly.

^^ You have to remember that the EC was created long before there were issues of party, economics and race like we have today. It was specifically to intended to shift the balance of the vote away from larger population areas to allow smaller states to have a voice. They did not want big cities making all the rules for the whole country, nor did they want the older, more established areas to outweigh newer developing areas.

The EC still has merits along those lines, but needs to be modified.

There is almost a need for an EC of sorts within many states. The City of Detroit, merely by population should not have more weight than Alpena in deciding state wide issues.

Why not? Are you saying that 600,000+ people should have the same weight as less than 10,000 people? What a ludicrously anti-democratic notion. By what right would you lessen the voting rights of some people in order to enhance those of other people?

You are correct though that the Electoral College was a 1780s solution to a set of 1780s problems. Why, in an era of universal adult suffrage [[something else the founders wanted to prevent) and modern technology and communications, we persist with this purposefully undemocratic anachronism is a subject that's a bit too big to discuss in this space, but it does have many more bad consequences than good ones for our political system. Not the least of which is that it effectively negates the votes of at least 49% of the electorate, and systematically diminishes the votes of many millions more.

^^ Look at a map of Michigan. Should one county [[Wayne) make the rules for the other 80 some counties, many of which are hundreds of miles away and may lean more towards Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana or even Canada in their way of thinking? There may be people in the UP who have never been to SE MI.

How does one perons=one vote unfairly weight anything? If you are going to vote for a candidate when you live in Detroit, you more than likely would vote for that candidate in Alpena. We are a democracy, why do we need a mechanism to "smooth" out the vote? What happens is you get a pres who doesn't win the popular vote and what good does that serve?

That is why there is so much confusion in politics, two have now claimed that we are a democracy when we are not, most argue about a system that they do not even understand.

Pushing to throw out the constitution that they also do not understand,no where in the bill of rights or the constitution does it refer to the US as a democracy,it refers to the US as a republic.

In a true democracy the majority would rule the minority and if one says every voice and vote matters,it would not under a true democracy.

But that is why some are pushing to remove the EC,they want the power to control everybody and remove everybody’s voice that they do not agree with.

Any politician or president that seeks to remove the EC is considered committing and act of treason, because they take an oath swearing to protect it when they take office, just like the military does.

To defend and uphold the constitution of the United States,so help me god.

    Those are the words.

Corporatists wanted Biden. This fits in with my observation that there is a polarity shift, under Trump at least, with American workers and non-whites voting significantly more Republican since 2016 while suburban whites and billionaires are voting increasingly for Democrats. Biden raised more money than Trump, $938M-$596M, and that, as a percentage, Biden's money came more from big donors. 45% of Biden's support came from big donors [[more than $200 donations) while 39% of Trump's money came from big donations. Imagine that. Biden raised 57% more money than Trump and received 82% more in large donations [[$938Mx45%, $596Mx39%).

Trump out raised Biden in the automobile sector $3M -$1.7M. Surprisingly, Biden out raised Trump in the pharmaceutical sector $11.3M-$2.2M. Who would have guessed that Biden is more beholden to pharmaceuticals but maybe not so much to Detroit's auto interests?

Maybe the morons are the people who still believe that Democrats still exclusively represent U. S. workers and the lower middle class.

Forget the names of candidates, parties and personal preferences or allegiances. Look at this map:

    https://www.politico.com/2020-electi...ults/michigan/

By my count, one candidate only won 11 of 83 counties. Regardless of which you supported or despised, this is a problem.

This is why the 'popular vote' count doesn't tell the whole story or represent all of the people.

I don't see how that is a problem; what does the fact that it is a county matter? If it was one vote, one person it wouldn't matter at all. Without the EC people vote; land doesn't.

I don't understand why he doesn't "get it" either?

The Michigan presidential map as being majorly red is repeated virtually in every state outside of the northeast. 90% [[rough estimate) of the USA land area was won by Trump... but that was mostly the sparser rural areas.

Georgia is another example that is similar to Michigan... Biden won the "vote count", but not the "land area".

People vote, not acres. It's that simple. Are you proposing we change to another system? If so, what should that system look like?

Trump plays on xenophobia which works well in the mostly-white rural areas. It doesn't work well in the more educated, densely populated areas where people interact with each other and aren't scared of the imaginary minorities that Trump and his supporters like to create.

This is the United States of America not Nazi Germany or Fascist Italy! Those Trump Nazi-Fascists need to cut it out about the voting fraud conspiracies. Christopher Krebs has done a great job securing the election ballots, It's the best a fair election ever. The MAGA folks needs to stop whining like little kids and take it like a adults! The election was fair and just and people of American has voted and the law has spoken. They want Joe Biden to be President of The United States and that's that. Concede now Trump or be escorted out the White House come January 21, 2021 with no helicopter ride to your public destination. You're done and a has been! You have your 4 year shot to Make American Great Again, but your arrogance and downplaying everything cause you to lose your second term. Once you're out of politics and into public life. You may be criminally charged for great your crimes ever.

    Good bye Trump!

At the very least, proportioning the EC vote by the PV. A candidate that gets 51% of the PV gets 51% of the EC.

More extreme would be to do it by county percentage. A candidate that gets 25% of the county PV, gets 25% of the EC.

Ideally, some combination of the two.
