He still owes The City. But he's also under court orders to pony up for 6 years of false tax returns. And Uncle almost always gets his first!

Coronavirus conspiracy theory #356: This virus thing was something cooked-up by the Kamuy Kilpatrick camp as a means to get him out of jail early. [[There may be something to this!!!!!!!)

er.. ah.. uh... we'll see what happens, I suppose.
I'm not part of the largely suburban/outstate "wanting to see him die in prison" crowd. But I'm also not among the "second coming of Coleman Young... Biblical redemption story" crowd regarding his pending release. I'm not coming to his paid lecture events [[they're coming. And yeah, if he earns his legal bread that way, so be it). I just hope he humbles himself and totally leaves politics alone from now on. Just leave it alone.
A former coworker told me more than a few times that, pre-mayoral bid, Mr. K was a solid presence in facilitating a male youth mentoring program at the then-Marcus Garvey Academy school in the city. Post-inauguration, he couldn't get a meeting to save his life. Oh well.
I was also a coworker with Ms. Beatty's mother: a sweet and smart woman, and she absolutely never talked about "the stuff" [[before, during, or after-- not that I blame her). To my knowledge she's moved to the Atlanta area to help out with her grandkids.
Mr. K., Go see your sons. Be there for them. The "Detroit machine/ trough/ swamp" ain't where it's at anymore. For everybody's sake.

Last time I checked... he didn't screw over or bilk millions from us suburbanites. I'm sure a lot of Detroiters [[downtowners) wanted to see him rot too.

Personally, I think he's done his time...

Ml Elrick just pointed this out on Facebook
Kwame Kilpatrick denied early release from federal prison
Disgraced former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on Tuesday was denied early release from federal prison.
Family, friends and supporters had said last week they had word he would get out 21 years before his federal corruption sentence ended because of a coronavirus outbreak in his facility.
The federal Bureau of Prisons has released a statement: "On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the federal Bureau of Prisons reviewed and denied inmate Kwame Kilpatrick for home confinement. Mr. Kilpatrick remains incarcerated at the federal correctional institution in Oakdale, Louisiana."
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit had no comment late Tuesday, according to spokeswoman Gina Balaya.

Kwame Kilpatrick won't be released from prison early, feds reveal

Detroit — Federal officials Tuesday refused to free former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on home confinement amid the COVID-19 outbreak, contrary to what supporters last week hailed as an imminent release from an unfair prison sentence.
A Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman told The Detroit News late Tuesday night that officials reviewed Kilpatrick's case and refused to release him nearly 17 years early on home confinement. The review appeared to be part of a broader effort to release prisoners in hopes of stemming the spread of a virus that has killed 64 federal inmates nationwide.
"On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the Federal Bureau of Prisons reviewed and denied inmate Kwame Kilpatrick for home confinement," the Bureau of Prisons office of public affairs wrote in an email to The News. Kilpatrick remains incarcerated at the low-security prison in Oakdale, La., where his release date is January 2037.

I hope they carry him out of prison feet first. He deserves every hour of every day he's been sentenced to. May he rot in hell!

You sound pretty bitter. Is there some past connection you have with him?

Yeah, he screwed over our city, it's people, it's communities, it's children and still has zero remorse about it. He has ruined many lives, of course we're bitter. Kwame is a psychopath, he will never care or think about anybody but himself.

Anybody who cares an ounce about Detroit would feel exactly the same way about Mr. Kilpatrick.

Y'all need critical thinking skills if you waste a single thought on sympathy for Kilpatrick.

I believe he's a retired firefighter or police officer, who is not only bitter about having to witness the city's downfall over the past few decades, but was also "burned" during the bakruptcy all caused in part by the corruption at CAYMC that folks like Kilpatrick participated in and even encouraged.

    What are you talking about?

EDIT: Now I see where there was speculation of him being under house arrest with his mom in Georgia.

Frankly, I might just be willing to trade him for Brian Kemp [[aka lil' Trump).

I feel like you're the last person in the history of the internet to ever be calling somebody else "bitter".

Spot on 313...all you said, and more. Look at Detroit today and see the devastation caused by Thug Kwame and his posse. There are many other skeletons around Detroit that may never be found that Kwame had his hands in. If he’s ever let out early, he’ll be gone with his stash of cash that he stole from the people who lived in Detroit, put their lives on the line for in Detroit. These idiots fighting for his release must be just as crooked or they don’t know his history, his mother’s history and his fathers history or it just doesn’t matter to them. Kwame will never say he’s sorry because he’s such an egomaniac, narcissistic psychopath.

anyone who considers themselves on guard for "fake news" just had their skepticism proven in a brutal way. In particular for African-American social circles, conspiracy theories will be amplified about "just what really happened" in the roll out of this narrative. [["Did Trump change his mind? Did William Barr? Did a promised donation not come through? Maybe Kwame was defiant and said hell-no he won't campaign for him!....")
Casual observers [[in black culture, anyway) may tend to assume that "The Ebony Foundation" is somehow related to the venerable magazine [[which has experienced tumultuous events in recent years); but it is most certainly not related.
Exactly who these people are and why they chose to send out a woefully premature press release, needs to be explored, if there are any answers to be found here.

HS, if you go to their website, the name says "ebonyjet" in the link. [[remember Jet magazine?) I thought I remembered the two had merged when both magazines had fallen on readership decline. Not sure if one or the other, or both, are associated with the Foundation. It seems odd though.

The Ebony Foundation was never connected to Ebony Media. Get your facts straight.

But that is typical in pretty much every city in the world, there are always political puppets and puppeteers and power brokers.

Even city’s like Miami are still being run under the good ol boy system,it just makes it worse when they suck the lifeblood out of the city and citizens to the point of destruction.Thats when the power and greed goes to far.

Stars has a series running called “Boss” that’s pretty much accurate as to how things work.
