The protests that happened were downtown, while Shield's Pizza is 2 miles north near Warren Avenue. The protests have been downtown, Corktown and Mexicantown, not up Woodward in Midtown.

I haven't been to a Shield's in 20 years, but I always though that Shield's and Buddy's were virtually indistinguishable, since a Buddy's employee went off on his own to start Shield's, and used virtually the same recipe. Has it changed in recent years?

Shield's sauce is not as sickly sweet as Buddy's, and the crust has a better crunch

Shields has always been a gas station style cardboard crust pizza. No comparison to buddy’s and lower grade then pizza hut.
