Hitler said "give me the children..." I know he[[Obama) didn't kill 6million jews,[[all in good time) but he is damn sure a national socialist[[NAZI). Of course I don't think the public babysitting service should even be allowed to call itself an education system.Anyone stupid enough to send their kids to these indoctrination centers is probably thinking along the same lines anyway, so what does more indoctrination matter

You're absolutely correct. With Obama, it is at a whole level unseen previously. I have to work a radio show where I hear so much of this unimaginative criticism that it makes me sick. In no way do I support everything that Obama does, but the people who are against EVERYTHING to the point where overboard isn't even a relative term don't realize that they do nothing for their cause. On several issues I might agree with the Obama-haters, I find myself so disgusted I want to support Obama against them.

If Obama were to call for the Pledge of Allegiance to be made at the beginning of the school day [[yes, the same one I remember making in elementary school) it would be seen as anti-american. Why can I see right-wingers burning flags in a couple years?

I think the right wingers are over reacting on this just a tad dont you think guys?

I really dont believe the PREZ is going to do a Kim Jong Il do you?

I think it would have been great if every prez would have addressed all students on the first day of class.

Its kind of a pick me upper if you know what I mean.

Its some of the teachers you need to worry about inflicting political agenda in the schools.
Not the Prez telling children to stay in school and be all they can be.

Did anyone know what Wilson was going to say after people just finished their dinners and sat down in front of the tube? World War I happened.

Did anyone know what to expect when Roosevelt declared World War II?

I feel like parents try to shelter their kids so much now, that they will never see the real world. What is the worst that the elected President of the United States could say? Let the man speak. If a parent has a problem with what he has to say, tell them to plug their ears or ask to leave the class. Don't ruin this for the other student who might want to listen.

It is worrisome that the school caves in here. Learning institutions need to present a balanced curriculum. Now here are hundreds if not thousands of students learning that a few cranks can shut off the President, that it is OK for a few to censor their curriculum. There has to be balance. Expression of concern is a good thing and must be addressed. You don't just cave in, as you are then overbalancing and shutting all others out of the process.

This is just another attempt by the fascist Reich to tar the president as a "socialist" or "communist", nothing more.

By the end of his presidency, we'll have an entire dictionary full of new adjectives to describe the toothless, diseased Rethuglicans who, while out of power sought to bring down his presidency by reacting to every public appearance, every news conference, even Glenda Speck is now saying that Rockefeller Center has "communist" stone carvings which the "communist" Rockefeller family had purposely carved into the facade of the building, just to irk the fascist right.

Here's a little fascist crazy crap from our perennial favorite, World Net Daily:

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=108771

And this guy is supposedly a Ph.D.? He doesn't even know that "...fascism, socialism, Marxism" were't created in the 18th century! What a hose bag. A lying, freak of nature who thinks we should shun our Democratic form of government, claiming it isn't legitimate, and we should revolt? This is the implication, certainlly. Just declare the system illegitimate when you lose power, and move on. Well, I didn't hear the outrage when Tush was president and destroying the nation.

God, these people are just hypocritical lying bastards.

Oh, as the World Net Daily says, be sure to support your local survival seed bank, so your crisis garden stays healthy.

    Let's see:

    Teagaggers,
    Birthers
    Deathers
    Astroturfers
    Preppers
Pied Pipers- [[this is the operational adjective for the freaks accusing Obama of being the Pied Piper, taking their children away)

I'm also considering "Indoctrinators", but need to poll test it first. What do y'all think?

Not a right wing, Detej72, but nut.. I don't know, maybe... I just have seen things in the last 20 years or so I never thought I'd see in the "land o' the free".And by the way , it's not all right for a republican to do it either. But after hearing this guy's buddies say the things they've said, and the avowed racists, and commies that he cozys up to I gotta say, yeah, he's worse than we've had even thus far.

Please, go suck and egg. This is getting ridiculus. We have speakers in our school 1000 times a year. Do you REALLY think that everyone of them should send a script home before they speak? We have a police officer coming in next week. Should he be forced to send his script home? C'mon!

    It is very clear that:

Extreme Right Wing Republicans are sore losers.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans are weak debaters.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans are Propagandists.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans do not remember Freedom of Speech Zones.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans carry firearms to protest rallys.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans have no answers to the problems they created.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans will Red Herring until they "prove" a Strawman.

Extreme Right Wing Republicans are a waste of time and resources.

The Left has given the Extreme Right Wingers more ground than they gave the Left during their reign. Perhaps the Left should now invoke the "Nuclear Option" in the Senate rules as the courtesy the Right threatened the Left with.

The Right is in the minority, takes no responsibility for the last 8 years and are a bunch of cry babies. MAN UP ... or just SHUT UP.

The Right has been WRONG for so many years that THEY can't see straight.

Considering that TV first came online 30 years after WWI... I can't image that folks were going to say much of anything after Wilson's speech!?

As for the comments coming from 4real.... I knew that after 8 years of Bush that SCHADENFREUDE was in store for Democrats... but based on the intensity of 4reals frothing at the mouth, I had no clue how sweet the victory!

    Thanks for the meltdown!

President Obama and his staffers are tone deaf when it comes to getting their message out [[aka using the "bully pulpit").

Yes, President Bush read to a classroom of elementary students, but that was maybe thirty students, max. Yes, government classes in high school have their students listen to presidential speeches by President Reagan and others, but there is a direct connection between the speeches and the subject of the class.

Now President Obama wants to share his thoughts with all school-age children so it is decided that he will address all of them at the same time and that the Education Dept will release lesson plans to accompany the speech.

Forget for a moment about whatever the content of his message will be and focus instead on the children. Students don't get enough instruction time as it is and the President wants to claim a slice of it with a message that cannot possibly be tailored to engage an audience that is as widely different as elementary and high school students. Which age group will he target with his speech and what about all of the others grade levels who will find it either over their head or geared too much towards the little kids?

Then there was the heavy-handed lesson plan where students were to "Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.” In response to the mounting criticism, some adults got involved and changed it to: “"Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals.”

The timing for this speech couldn't come at a worse time of the school year when teachers are still trying to get their new students to settle into a routine and listen to the authority figures who they will be seeing daily for the next nine months.

If they were honest about it, the partisan defenders of President Obama's speech would have to admit that they would have complained if President Bush had proposed a similar method of addressing the students in all classrooms across the country.

Wait, he did and Democrats complained bitterly, or have you already forgotten? It was back in Oct. 1991 and President George H.W. Bush asked students to “take control” of their education and to write him a letter about ways students could help him achieve his goals. Democrats complained about it it back then and I think they were right to denounce it.

The saddest part about all of this is parents are teaching their kids that you don't have to respect or listen to someone with whom you disagree on political matters--even if its the President. And now schools are sanctioning this juvenile behavior. But really--do we expect anything different from parents raised in the "me first" Reagan era, and the brat kids they're raising?

There's two sides to the First Amendment, folks.

Keep shitting your pants, right-wingers. You're just making yourselves look more ridiculous and petulant by the day.

    Right on, Gettopalmetto!

OMG it's nationwide. Somebody call the World Health Orgnanization! Terrorists have infected us!

    http://www.leadertelegram.com/story-...id=BL2OKLVS0S4

One school district got calls from 25 concerned parents. News alert! They didn't get calls from hundreds of parents who want or don't care that their children hear the speech. That was not reported.

Quote: with some of the things the nation is dealing with now, including national health care, people are highly sensitive to messages their children might hear that differ from their personal beliefs

    http://www.leadertelegram.com/story-...id=BL2OKLVS0S4

Afterthought: Do they really think the president is going to tell there kids [[a la Mattel), tell your parents the health care plan is a good thing? Listening to Fox is bad? Rush Limbaugh tells lies? The world is more than 4000 years old? Is education and working hard against their personal beliefs? Should the school system listen if it is?

summary of the speech posted by the Department of Education states:
"The President will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals and take responsibility for their own learning. He will also call for a shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible so they can compete in the global economy for good jobs and live rewarding and productive lives as American citizens."

Looks like everyone is crucifying Barack Obama in the American flag for the socialist views. I say let him speak at the school. Let him explain to the American People about his health care reform. Give him a chance. Most Americans are acting like J.P. McCarthy and The House of Un-American Commission. You all voted for him so deal with it for the next 4 years.

Obama is now your first premier of the Pre-federative Socialist Democratic Communist United States of Amerika and all will salute his wonderous Pre-Soviet ideology that is changing this free nation.

This is just another form of Astroturfing.

These Rethuglican parents are simply responding to the talking points put out there by talk radio freaks like Hannity, Slush, etc, etc.

What are we calling them this time around- I'm working on several new adjectives that fit, since the list of obstructionist Rethuglican adjectives is growing exponentially, we need to slap a label on it.

    How about:

    Pied Pipers

    Indoctrinators

    Locksteppers

    Lemmings

Enter your adjective, I'll poll test it online. We need to have one soon, since the Rethuglicans are so in love with labels for the left, we need to respond in kind.
