Taking a look at the numbers, for every dollar spent on the Michigan Lottery, 61 cents went to prizes, 29 cents to the school aid fund, 7 cents went to commissions for retailers, and 3 cents went to administrative costs.

so where is the tax revenue going to go? "The schools"? how about roads? Never mind.. it will probably disappear.

If the Detroit casinos are allowed to offer sports betting, the additional revenues generated will most likely be taxed at the same rate as the gaming revenues from slots and table games.

The Detroit casinos pay 8.1% of their gaming revenues to the state’s School Aid Fund, which is used for K-12 public classroom education. The Detroit casinos paid over $112 million into the state School Aid Fund in 2016.

The Detroit casinos also pay 10.9% of their gaming revenues to the City of Detroit’s General Fund. This represents around 15 – 20% of the city’s General Fund annual revenues. In 2016, the Detroit casinos paid over $175 million into the city’s General Fund. The Detroit General Fund pays for police, fire, public works, lighting, recreation, and other city government services.
