Default Changes To The Brewster Recreation Project

Can't find the original thread, but there are changes in the work to the residential component.

If the residential comes to pass, it will be 280 units. Gilbert proposed 400 in his development. The Scott [[?) project is has X more units. Sounds like plans are in the works or announced for nearly 1,000 Brush Park housing units.

I've seen some of the details about the proposed 280 unit project from Historic District Commission, City Council Planning and Development, and Brush Park CDC meetings.

The development team seems to be getting a real generous deal. Despite numerous statements that the administration supports a Request For Proposal [[RFP) process in all Brush Park development, there is no RFP for this development plan which eliminates potentially better options. Supposedly because this developer came in second at a completely different site and couldn't agree with the winner and proposed co-developer about parking. Lots of units [[some is affordable which is good) and lots of surface parking [[not so good). No community benefit agreement requirement, just a small pocket park that abruptly ends the Bedrock project's tree lined mew from continuing through the neighborhood. 4.4 acres of land being sold for $235K [[if the Mayor's Office on record statement at Council hearings is correct) or $660K [[if the Developer's statement at a Community Presentation is correct). Nonetheless appears much lower than market.

Some of my neighbors have joked that if this development comes to pass, a potential new name for Historic Brush Park could be Non-Historic Brush No Park.
