Reading material packing my bookcases. For genocide [[American made or otherwise) is a common topic of study for me.

Keeping it more recent, it disturbs me that more of a militarized mentality has gripped this nation of late. This is how things fall apart or get overrun by Spartanical Ruff-Tuff Cream Puffs taking charge [[another Crumb-ism-see Hup #1).

What concerns me is whoever has an "agenda"-be it "radical Islam" cells scattered about or heavily armed potheads from Pennsylvania "liberating kids from drug dens in New York" [[ala' Hardcore or worse, like Joe or Taxi Driver)-are all going about things the wrong way.

Without trying to be too cute about a very unpleasant turn of events [[which is why I'm not linking to clips from "Bowling for Columbine"), I'm plain floored by how many folks are getting too gung-ho about things. They either are fed up with sitting on all those guns [[-and the ammo, and the gun club memberships and meetings, and the belts and clips, and all the target practice they invested in-remember that link I made to those hideous zombie targets that looked like African Amercians and President Obama?,-AND aaaallll of the gun porn they buy-) they've hoarded and then terribly feel let down that they don't ever get to use any of them [[yes, all flakked up and noone to shoot, eh?). Maybe they would feel better that they should start using those guns before they start to go out of style-so they got to go find a target... Or maybe it's all just a case of them being silly, insecure white dudes....

"Why should G-DDT care?" you may ask...

Well, I live in Dearborn, some of my best neighbors are Arab Americans. I simply don't want someone like this politician [[or any of his friends) from Tennessee http://heavy.com/news/2015/05/robert...-plea-patriot/ coming up and trying something here. I'm just glad this guy got caught.
I got sick of it enough with Ruben Israel and "Rev." Terry Jones starting trouble.

Folks want to react to Orlando, but how is more violence the answer? Think of the Sikh guy killed after 9/11. If Doggart had succeeded, there would be dead children and families, and it would be just like someone executing an Amish community [[like with the West Nickel Mines school, which is coming up on ten years now) all because they didn't understand the news report about that couple giving their kids to that Lee Kaplan guy long after they got booted from an Amish community for their flawed behavior.

Racism and intolerance have been coming grossly back in style with no apologies of late. We saw it with celebrities who get away with it. We see it in our legal and justice systems. The media has reverted back to imbalanced forms of reporting events, and speaking of propaganda, you got idiots splashing things up on billboards to voice their intolerance to religion [[like in Times Square or this Florida http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/a...each/128625411 billboard which I'm sure Mateen may have have seen many times) or against race, interracial marriage or what have you [[I still remember the anti-homeless banners I saw in South Bend).

Maybe none of it can be taken too seriously since it's just billboards all posted up alongside with the liquor and soda crud and casino gambling ads, and I guess that makes it all the more apropos a medium for that thinking, or maybe it is all some form of trollish/poe inflammatory device being employed here. It can all be fever-pitch inspiration getting momentum here, or it's all just the measly last viscous death rattle of a subculture that needed to finally be subjugated.

However, it's bad enough that we got a guy here in Dearborn on Outer Drive who puts up sandwich boards on his lawn [[which makes an odd blurred section around Googlemaps) talking about "executing Democrats" or imprisoning this person or that, but when you got another person acting like a yahoo down in Tenesse.http://heavy.com/news/2016/06/rick-t...tewater-grill/ Ugh.

People are feeling bolder and encouraging others to push the envelope. More and more "football hooligans", neo-Nazi wannabees, and other extremists are gaining headway throughout Europe [[like France's National Front which have been around for over 40 years). The push for dealing with total absolutes in their thinking to attain full "law and order" is the very root of virus-like thinking, fascism, and the very conspiracy of control that has plagued all of history. Many innocents and meek souls will suffer under this steamroller mentality.

The answer is to speak up, communicate with others, sit in, bravely look them eye to eye and turn the other cheek, set an example, boycott, carefully purge the infiltrator/saboteurs in your midst, starve yourself if you have to, but don't play into that hate mentality, and pray to God above all for some more inches of peace this summer.

I doubt the shooter attempted to hide a rifle, pistol and multiple magazines of ammunition. Either he entered the bar late enough when there was no longer security at the door, or he shot or threatened to shoot in order to gain entrance. My guess if the former, as the shooting supposedly started at last call it's far past the point when security at most clubs is concerned with keeping people out.

He has been relived of duties, but what he said has truth.

He lives in Maitland which is a upper middle class, mostly white suburb of Orlando and he is saying nothing different that I hear on this site from some when some from the burbs speak about Detroit.

The problem with Orlando and most of Fla and south is there are many immigrants that fled their country because of violence and sub-par conditions and brought it all here, not all, but when you are in a country and your children are in a gang moving to another country and city is not going to change that. Why is it necessary to come to this country and trash it,billboards no longer in English, employment denied unless one is bilingual.

So now the currant residents are forced to adapt to your standard of living, and language.Resident African Americans had enough obstacles for employment and now they are forced to learn another language just to get even a menial job.Not happening.

Then you have the ultra liberals that are priced out of California and move there and want to regulate everything you want to eat, drink, drive and do in your life.

If you do not like it,you are a homophobic, racist or whatever name one can come up with to justify not looking at both sides and trying to force one to conform to one opinion only.

I took some friends from the UK to Clearwater beach which is one of the best beaches in the country, and a family beach where 90% are families with small children. Two women late 20s smack dab in the middle of everybody, were on top of each other, grinding away.

Police were called and they were asked to leave the beach, but yet 2 weeks prior a man and woman were doing the same thing, off to the side and not really in plain view were arrested and jailed.

So now most of the retirement communities are being built way out in the country away from it all.

What he said is true, maybe not what anybody wants to hear and maybe not worded in the best way,but true none the less.

But it is a matter of opinion and subjective to ones values,if one has christian values then that city is not probably for you anymore. So you leave,I did, once my children had children they also left, that is how it happens.

There is a time and a place for everything.

There are folks on this forum who openly express their disgust with anyone callously using a tragedy to exploit their stance.

Despite my misgivings towards Boston, when the Boston Marathon bombings occurred, I refrained from comments like "they should've used a bigger bomb" [[any slight flicker of thoughts of that ugly kind dissipated once I saw the faces of the victims-including the little kid from Dorchester.).

I would find it hard to believe that anyone on this site would even justify the actions of Kenneth Lewis. He lost his position right and just as sure as we all should get judged for every careless word we utter. He not only showed extreme insensitivity to one of the hugest single man gun-based slaughters in this country, but repeatedly kept bringing the topic around like someone parading a turd in a punchbowl with the kid attacked by the alligator and the pop singer being shot.

I ask all on this forum to read the article on Kenneth Lewis and then the comments of those being an apologist for him you will see the inherent nature that is being revealed here.

There is a time and place for everything.

Which is exactly what the Governor said the next day at the news conference, immediately following him was Geraldine Thompson whose district covers where the club is,most of the time as a representative she sits up in Tallahassee and campaigns and passes laws for the African community only, nothing wrong with that except for the fact is that a community comprises of many different nationalities including African Americans.

The first words out of her mouth were related to gun control and how the guns need to be removed from everybody and that was her mission.

In the 80s Orlando was a community of everybody and one that you could still as a private citizen actually walk into the mayors office and have a sit down,we did many times.

    2 million residents now comprised of Caucasians,Puerto Rician,New yorkricians,Venezuelans,Argentinians,Spaniards,Hai tian,Jamaican,Colombian,African Americans,LGBT, etc etc etc

Every single one of those groups does not combine to make a community, every single one does everything in the book to stay a separate group from everybody else,so what you end up with is a bunch of clicks and every click wants it to be like where they left and are comfortable with.

A community should be comprised of everybody and everybody should feel that they are an important part of that community no matter where they are from and who they are.

You can see the difference in Detroit when others are angry at what Detroit was, compared to what it had become. This is no different, same politicians fighting to separate everybody to win votes at the cost of the community as a whole.

Some say that they would prefer not to raise their children in the city of Detroit with a population of 700,000,now take that same scenario and have a population of two million with the same results.

We cannot always pass quick judgement on people that say things we do not agree with or use words not eloquently spoken at the time without looking at the bigger picture and trying to figure out where the person is coming from.

Why is it that when someone speaks their mind or has an opinion that we do not agree with, they are automatically labeled with some pulled out of the air term that really has no meaning.

I couldn't have been more scriptural with my paraphrasing of "to everything there is a time and a place" or the use of Matthew 12:36 [[straight from J.C.'s mouth) regarding the accountability of one's careless word usage.

People have freedoms, but not the immunity to not be labeled a jack-a-ninny and a poor statesman.

Peculiar how those most given to putting the spin on labels like "freedom" and "liberty" are those most concerned about their freedoms only-and mostly to apply the "freedom" to scam, poison, exploit, and enslave others without government scrutiny and regulation.

When it comes to freedom of words, they gaffe, contradict themselves, and invest in and own the large corporate media outlets that selectively edit what gets reported. When some institution or person much smaller, yet more perceptive and more open in their reporting, comes along to stem the tide of and expose the cri-zzap flowing from the formidable corporate media channels, these same "free speech" folks act as if they are "the victim" in the face of overwhelming countering evidence [[including that of history, as well), and they do all they can to suppress and shout down the truth being represented. They somehow think it's an infringement on their liberties when one calls them out for their B.S. [[their B.S. being the real stand-out severity when applying critical comparatives of the onion of issues here).

Regarding intolerance, it's also flipped out how some have adopted the childish mentality that their "white identity" is being infringed upon when they become just as even with the rest of the ethnic diversity. When anyone starts showing their unabiding nature by using careless speech laced with hate and intolerance or the need to have their race come out "on top" [[once again, the unabiding intolerance is the stand-out issue of severity that trumps all others by vast critical comparative); then they are most deserving to be verbally countered and criticized by those also exercising their free speech and by those who are doing it with more erudition and a justified right. You compare the two, and you know who the jack-ass is, and it clearly is the one who then turns around pulling out the "victim of intolerance" card when they are the originators of a greater intolerance.

It's childish for anyone to whip out hate and then wonder why they get a more mature reproof directed back at them. They scream it's all about intolerance towards their initial intolerance. They are ones who started it.

No one is forcing them to do anything. They just can't be abiding with diversity. Thus, they can't deal with the world, and they can't deal with life, and then their socially, spiritually, and emotionally stunted existence boils to head with public displays like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7yVM8c6ECo which I witnessed on a weekly basis in Boston [[some by those who truly let the specter of busing haunt them forever like they were brutally gang raped for a decade by a thousand maniacs in Peoria or something.). Unless you can give appropriate evidence to how it truly ever was, then quit trying to perpetrate about how it's "supposed" to be. So get over yourself, and start learning to deal with life!

So, I'm supposed to feel sorry for and not judge the actions/words of anyone who can't cope and abide with co-existing with others, to where it gets to the point that they spout during inopportune times of grief [[be it an alligator attacking a child, a singer being shot, and close to 50 folks being gunned down) with intolerant language [[laced with much hatred towards racial diversity) towards a city. That's f*cking silly!

There are many regions that suck, but you just don't turn an event of ugly proportions as an excuse to add insult to injury [[even the pagan Romans knew better than that). I shouldn't even have to explain this to anyone on DY, here. Am I right? You don't even have to be "spiritually minded" to have some developed sense of respect. You want respect? Then show it. Lewis obviously did not, and he deserved to be fired. It's called accountability. You want freedom?-then take the vigilance, responsibility, and the accountability that comes right along with it.

If you are a wealthy televised "man of God", you have to have respect and common sense. But if you start making unscripturally callous presumptions about certain disasters being "God's way", you deserve to be dis-credited and ignored into obscurity. Likewise, to be a person of vested official position, you have to know how to address heavy matters with diplomacy and respect for the victims-free of Schadenfreude and malice. If you can't do that, then you should have a job selling aluminum siding or running some strip club, but not being a government official.

I personally hate homogeneity; I despise it heavily. I grew up a minority in Detroit, and I was cool with it. As long as I wasn't the only white person for miles, I was cool with it [[and I can sympathize with any African American who feels the same in any all white scenarios-like being the only black person for miles in Dubuque).

Folks all agreed early in this thread that any usage of this bloody event to promote any agenda by a politician is garish, tiring, and ugly to watch [[be it anti-Muslim, anti-immigration, pro-gun, gun control, etc.). Now, I shouldn't even have to be drawn in any further into someone's desire to blindly mentally masturbate about this matter. So, I'm going to drop it from this point on. Yet, petty mindsets are petty mindsets, and I just know how much they love having the last word.

    So,.....
