Such laws were tried with liquor [[failed), drugs [[still failing). How many people would willingly give up the weapons? The left proposes harsh laws yet many celebrities and wealthy people [[Bloomberg for one) have armed security with them. Some politicians who advocate gun control carry. A case of doubletalk ?
