I heard the interview with the director on NPR and wanted to see the film. I saw it Saturday night @ the DIA. It was very good on several different levels. I felt bad for the musicians and the people of Cambodia.

Hopefully it will make it to DVD one day and I can see it then.

No doubt it'll be released as a DVD or PBS will show it. Speaking of which, they're running an excellent Viet Nam documentary one evening this week.

Just caught a disturbing documentary on HBO last night by Nick Broomfield about the Grim Sleeper serial killer, who worked between 1988 ans 2002 killing many drug-addicted prostitutes in the L.A. area. The film highlighted some of the more disturbing aspects, like how many folks in the neighborhood knew he was up to no good, how his son was put through the wringer by cops [[and later praised for being the son of the man who was cleaning the streets of "drug-whores"), and how police dragged their feet [[despite pressure and protests by many) just like with the Green River Killer and similar such prolific serial killings. The police definitely epitomized the Malthusian ideal sadly through and through in their attitude.

Found this brief documentary last night called "What the Future Sounded Like". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KkW8Ul7Q1IIt may suck to some folks, but I think it has that "Forbidden Planet" sound going for most of it [[the kind 4FR used to emulatehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYwF1sRzdBA). If one were to like that, there's also the triple CD release, OHM: Early Gurus of Electronic Music,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohm:_T...ectronic_Music that has pieces similar to that [[and some dipping into ambiance and drone). My favorite is from [[of all folks, cartoon soundtrack composer-) Raymond "Powerhouse" Scott https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80XEEpqBra0.

There's a documentary called Helvetica. I believe it is still on Netflix streaming. I thought it would be completely stupid, but it was rather interesting.

Born Rich: Children Of The Insanely Wealthy

Undoubtedly a film we're not intended to see, but is it what we're intended to not see?

We've marched through "aristocracy" to "oligarchy," but no, that doesn't quite capture the essence anymore. We've now shifted into a new realm requiring an new word for this social forefront.

    I propose "parasitocracy."
    We're so alone.

Total duration 42 minutes. It's about the seldom-reported topography beneath The Great Lakes.

The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is covered as well as a crater inside Lake Ontario the size of Meteor Crater in Arizona! I didn't notice any mention of Detroit though.

The Greatest Heist You've Never Heard Of | Retro Report | The New York Times
One night in 1971, files were stolen from an F.B.I. office near Philadelphia. They proved that the bureau was spying on thousands of Americans. The case was unsolved, until now.

Dark Star" H.R. Giger's World on Netflx.
The best documentery I've ever seen. [[ Out of a hundred), The man is pure genious probably not of this earth. Of course he did "Alien" but has a lifetime of work behind and ahead of him.

Put one finger on the pause button to appreciate his art. He did all media as an expert.
    Live on H.R.

    Seen on Netflix.
