Not sure what your getting at Zacha. Addiction is a fucked up condition no doubt.Ah yes, a masterful cautionary tale on why drugs tend to make one a bit messy, feeling like a pin cushion. And why you should really think twice before stumbling into some pawn shops after a car accident......
I wonder if Zeidmans has their own version of the 'gimp' in the back room?
You should buy my book on it, Junky Chronicles

Nothing more than addiction is f'd up as you said -- as vividly shown in PF [[even with the five dollar milk shake crowd! Hah). Like how grand to end your night with a needle in your sternum to revive you.
Indeed I would like to read your book, I have known a few people who've come thru to the other side [[of addiction).

I can't believe nobody said the Wizard of Oz yet. The only other one I can think of is A Hard Day's Night.
^^^ Judy Garland singing in that is great!
A sequel too many perhaps for the Matrix. Like Godfather 1,2,3. Many people hate 3 but it has its moments. Well Andy Garcia was worth it for me [[and it too contains some great one-liners). Hah!
REBECCA, Alfred Hitchcock's first USA made film.... awesome.
North By Northwest
Blazing Saddles
Blues Brothers
Animal House
Christmas Story
Rear Window
Casablanca
1941
Pink Panther
Rose Marie
Day The Earth Stood Still
Forbidden Planet
All the THIN MAN movies...
Lawrence of Arabia
Despite what I said about tiring epics [[something every forum reader knows I have a big hand in), it's really peculiar that I should note that every time "All the President's Men" is on T.V., I have to watch it, at any point. I guess, it's because I read the book and started off "Uh-oh what did I get into here? There's no way I can stay on top of all these names and data", but about two-thirds of the way through I'm like "Ohhh, yeah. yeah. Okay so this Segretti guy was doing this ugly stuff under this guy to do this, and that guy worked under... Sloan was set up...yada yada yada...okay this guy, that guy, Dean, Haldeman, Liddy, Hunt, Colson, Mrs. Mitchell says this, Ziegler says that-okay okay-I can follow this."-and it's like that everytime I watch the movie. I got to watch it and go "Oh yeah..."
Dang this thread. I keep coming up with more things. I can't forget Mr. Gilliam, so, Time Bandits and 12 Monkeys count [[as much as Fisherking is in my top ten favs, it still is one of those heavy epics that I only dust off for a view once in a while maybe-and usually on some cold, rainy November near Thanksgiving). Also, as much as I don't respect where Polanski is coming from, Chinatown and the Pianist are absolutely amazing movies I can jump in watch at any point.
the night porter, another old favorite.
I've tried watching O! Lucky Man about 5 times, but there is one scene i just can't get through without feeling totally freaked out
Powwow Highway, never get tired of this one.

101 How to take your 70 million dollar film budget and use the Shackey camera effect.
Pretend your drunk uncle with the shackey hands has an 8mm camera and a 70 million dollar budget. Thats RoboCop 2014. Thanks Hollywood, for your forward thinking art.
Thats
By the way, has Samuel L Jackson EVER turned down a movie? Only thinking.

Whoa - that was one of my favorites as a kid. Need to dig that one up...
My list:
Goodfellas - The cinematography alone is mezmerising
Local Hero - Incredible soundtrack by Knopfler + beautiful meditative shots of Scotland
The Sting - One of my top five favorite movies - I'm a sucker for heist films
The Spanish Prisoner - I'm also a sucker for Mamet films
-Animal House
-Goodfellas
-Network
-The Godfather I and II
-Dirty Harry
-American Sniper
-Star Wars
-Blues Brothers
-High Noon
-Halloween
What? You did not like 'Snakes on a Plane'?? ...... Hah. Jackson INDEED has a very long filmography -- some films that are awful to absolutely awesome!
And I'm digging his voice-over/ narrative work in more documentaries as of late. One of my fav films of his the highly under-rated [[IMO) 'The Negotiator'. His role as Gator in 'Jungle Fever' was incredible. I also dug 'Unbreakable', 'Jackie Brown' etc. Another powerful early film of his not often available for streaming is '187'.
He makes a cameo appearance in an early Al Pacino film: 'Sea of Love'!

Dead Man - Jim Jarmusch. The cinematography if absolutely brilliant - Examine almost any frame and you will find references to photography in the late 19th century as well as early silent westerns
Disturbing scene there-thank you, Lance Henriksen.
Billy Bob Thornton: What's a Philistine?
Iggy Pop: Well, it's just a real dirty person.
Just watching War of The Roses for the 20th time and it still holds up :-) Laugh out loud.
