No insurance of course, if the renovations are under permit, insurance gets well... then lo and behold the renovations really take off. Yes well maybe the proximity of the Pointes to Detroit proper has a lot to do with it. But again, we want to get rid of this dichotomy of burb-city on these threads. Let's make way for a real evolution toward a metro Detroit spirit.

I have a hard time understanding envy/snarkiness of this type. Even if he was a member of the "lucky sperm club," he did all that could be expected, collecting and donating a major portion of the art at the DIA- over 1000 works of art. And then leaving at least $12.5 mil [[1980 dollars) as an endowment to the DIA.

Maybe he was born with more than you or I but he gave a hell of a lot and left the city better than he found it in a way that he could. I'd say what he did was pretty rare.

Why begrudge a man that was born different from you or I? Judge him on what he did.

Briarwood Place was the site of an estate belonging to one of the Sheldons. Newberry Place was the site of Drybrook, Truman Newberry's estate.
