ACT scores can be greatly affected by practice, training, and proper mindset.
Kids who are scared to death of this test will do poorly, regardless of the school system.
Love how Roeper is invisible in the discussion

I love how Greenhills is invisible in the discussion. They also require an admissions test and do not have USA Football.
But your stats and data are invisible as Casper the ghost Towne
- got some balls or just opinions to back it all up ?
I'll say put up - go big - or go home
How far do you want folks to drive their kids - maybe to LIGGET as well

I love how Frankel Jewish Academy is invisible in the discussion. They are a religious school that also has an admissions test and also does not have USA Football.
The original poster isn't from the area so I mentioned an option.
Quite obviously that didn't sit well with you Town Cluber.
We are now on post #54 and you have provided zero facts
from any source to substantiate your position.
For all we know you pick up trash at the schools,
since you have not mentioned exactly what you do
or how you interact with the schools you mentioned.
If you would like people to discuss Parochial Schools, by all means open it up.
Private schools abound, parents just have to pay and often provide the transport.
It is, an open forum, with numerous points of view, and no singular forum member
gets to steam roll over everyone elses opinion or posts or viewpoints.
Google does a great job of letting people know "What is in the area"

Willi, you are showing yourself to be dishonest with some kind of warped agenda.
We are now on post #56 and you have provided zero facts from any source to substantiate your positions. Posting a Google Map doesn't count, but is a weak attempt at further misdirection. The original focus of this discussion was asking about background information on Cranbrook as well as the differences between Cranbrook and Detroit Country Day. It was not an open call for someone to post a map of Birmingham-Bloomfield area schools.
On the contrary, you have tried to deceive the original poster, as well as the forum as a whole, by insinuating that Roeper was the only private school with an admissions test and that all the other private schools are pay to play. Furthermore, you pushed some kind of misguided ideology that not having a football team somehow automatically makes for a better school.
You have also shown yourself to be an incredible hypocrite and elitist by demanding that others provide specifically sourced information as well as information about themselves, while not doing so yourself. Your knock on custodial workers was more blabber out of left field.
In total, there has been no substance to any of your posts on this matter.
Does Cranbrook have an athletic requirement, like most of the East Coast preps schools have?
If you didn't want your kids around athletes, wouldn't International Academy be just as good as Roeper? How are they any different?
ACT scores can be greatly affected by practice, training, and proper mindset.
Complete BS. They can be gamed, yes. But nobody with a brain crashes and burns. Sounds like something you'd find in a teachers union propaganda book or hear in the halls of the sociology department at Brown. Life is full of tests.
[QUOTE=Bham1982;455842]Cranbrook does this, other schools do not. Cranbrook has a huge endowment, DCD does not.
I'm not certain if it is true that Steve Ballmer who just bought the LA Clippers for billions
also sits on the DCD board, but if it is true a prospective DCD student might ask him
nicely for a scholarship or loan.
Ballmer is a past DCD trustee who maintains close ties to the school.
Cranbrook and DCD have athletic, fine or performing arts, and extracurricular [[clubs) participation requirements.
No doubt if someone pays [[enough) those entrance exams don't mean much
Towne Club - yeah yeah blah blah blah you worthless hot bag of air with no credibility
What you """perceived""" in your twisted head is yours and yours alone to hold.
There most definitely are options to Cranbrook that produce superior results

If you didn't want your kids around athletes, wouldn't International Academy be just as good as Roeper? How are they any different?
No AnonJD, International Academy isn't as good because its students are allowed to play USA football for their home school district. IA, however, does have an entrance exam.
