So we voted on it, and funded it.

SMART needs the money. They don't have magical money trees and Possible Hitler Youth Leader John Hertel isn't hoarding all the money. SMART has been chronically underfunded to the point where they cannot replace their fleet. But I know all of this is lost on you, So It's Okay.
There is solid mathematical and physical evidence which proves beyond a doubt that SMART is overfunded by taxpayer money based on the service they provide. This can not be disputed by anyone and those who try are just posting a bunch of garbage, just like you. I'm telling you this because I want you and everyone to be an informed voter.

And we can vote communism if we want. YES there are those who really are communist and they do run for office. SMART is government owned and everyone pays no matter if you benefit and they serve you based on need or where you live despite the cost or your ability to put safety first, lower costs or find another provider. We all pay no matter how much you work, just like the former Soviet Union. Possibly you are too young to remember the problems this causes? -----

Communism derives from the French commun [[common). Ideally, according to communism, society shares all property in common, everyone shares the burden of labor, and everyone shares the profits of that labor. Or, as the German philosopher Karl Marx wrote, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." As a system of government, communism is often closer to a form of socialism, in which the state owns and operates industry on behalf of the people. ------

SMART is way too costly and they put safety last by supporting drastic cuts in service and dangerous freeway expansions without alternative options.

Thank you for taking the time to post a reply to my comment.

    Very strange.
I agree that such homes should be moved to other neighborhoods. The cost would be much less than building a new McHouse, that you could find in any new suburb in America. There are so many architecturally significant homes in Detroit in deteriorated areas that should be saved. Their old-world craftsmanship and uniqueness would be impossible to duplicate today, and they are part of our history. The house I live in now in Texas looks so generic; I wish I had my Detroit house here.
