You might want to review that. Last time I looked at their rates a couple of years ago, they had an energy charge and a delivery charge that was rather high. I don 't remember what it was right now, but it seemed to really jack up the monthly bill disproportionately to what the KwH charged appeared to be.

Looks like for a standard residential customer, it's 11.9 cents for the first 510 KwH/mo, then it jumps to 13.26 cents for each additional.

That the energy charge plus the delivery charge without any of the base account charges.

    Willi.... reality check.....

    DTE Energy....

SALES in 2013 were 9.63 Billion.
GROSS income in 2013 was 1.55 Billion.

So based on your estimate... they spend the equivalent of half of their earnings on Maintenance....

Doesn't sound so bad now, does it/?

Most folks equate sales with revenue, i.e money coming IN the door, spin it like you wish.

I like to see it as, 10 Million of the Michigan residents population, getting swindled.

I am by far no fan of DTE Energy.... but you cannot simply pick and choose the statistics that you want to support your argument...

"Statistics may be a principled means of debate with opportunities for agreement, but this is true only if the parties agree to a set of rules. Misuses of statistics violate the rules."

Electric power is still a good value. My bill is seldom over $100 per month. I'd rather take a few preparations for an occasional outage than pay $500 per month for a storm proof grid. These folks are working around the clock to fix the damage from the storm, and I appreciate it.

Maybe they should BETTER manage that $ 10 Billion coming at them every year.
The revenue is publicly secured through customer rates, a huge plus for stability and solvency.

Something like $20 million a year goes toward executive salaries alone.

I agree with you, executive salaries are out of control. I don't know why in America these people must make millions.

Because we area a deluded people that believes if we all work hard enough, WE ALL just might be in a position to make those salaries too. It's the same level of deluded fantasy every scratch off lotto buyer has. 99.% of the country will not make in a lifetime what some of these guys make in annual performance bonus... yet we worship them as gods. We're a pathetic failure of a nation...not long for this earth. I'm giving the American experience 60 or so more years before it shatters like the balkans. .
