The 3 days of traffic drives be a bit batty, but a few hours at the beer tent and I forgive/forget.

We also have a new brewery in town that should be packed with this weekend's festivities.

I'm able to see the shower from my kitchen! [[snaredrum) I have seen meteors from both Belle Isle and the Detroit shore, but it's a onesy-twosy thing. I have seen it out @ Whitmore Lake a few years back, and it was mesmerizing. You really want to be somewhere where there are no City lights to interfere. I'm thinking about taking a drive to Cranbrook [[even that's becoming more lit up as the sprawl crawls) but I want to look up whether or not they'll be open.

I'm about 20 miles from Ypsi, but I think I just saw part of the airshow fly over. Wild.

Watched filming of a scene for "Batman vs Superman" about a block from Campus Martius yesterday evening. That was pretty cool.

Cranbrook is in a valley, and most of the sidestreets surrounding it don't have streetlights. The sky is as inky-black as you're going to get without going way up into northern Macomb or north-west Oakland. They have a really nice observatory open later on Fridays and Saturdays, otherwise the entire campus is closed to the public at night.

Had a great time downtown this weekend. All kinds of different people coming down to play. They had Monroe blocked of several times with the people in the streets, very fun. Saying hi to everyone is my favorite part.
