Things that are fun in Detroit 2014

The New Monitor always has a list of great activities for weekends. My husband had a list of 7 great things to do this weekend but too lazy to post.

We plan to attend the Mack Alive parade and festival today. Genesis Lutheran Church and community Garden, party roughly noon to 2. East Grand Blvd and Mack. John's Carpet House blues on Sunday

Monster tour was a great show both Friday and Saturday. Tons of people from all over the country to see these shows. I met a couple from Portland Oregon that are die hard Rihanna fans who were telling me that their friends back home kept telling them that they were crazy to come to Detroit and when they got here couldnt believe how nice everything was. Described their hotel, book Cadillac, as "incredible" they wouldn't stop talking about how much fun they had at the clubs on brush street and the packed casino in greektown on Thursday night like I didn't live here and already know about it and needed to be told. With the ALS ice bucket challenge being delivered to Eminem, Mr Porter and of course Rihanna now going viral worldwide it is just kickass watching and hearing the effects of what is good in Detroit changing how non detroiters think about us.
